Thank you for the easy to understand video. Just picked up a good used rear pair of Firestone air bags from a local dismantler to put on my f250 and your video eased some of my apprehensions. Not looking forward to drilling the frame.
Nice job was think of putting a flat bed on our 93 f250 4x4 and putting this on it ! have a safe trip hope you got your radio put in ! take care ! Curt :-)
Just a tip i had my filler neck and fuel cap up under my bed like you do. This past summer I blew a head gasket and I had to have a lot of work done to my truck . When the mechanics were tearing my truck apart they called me to let me know there was a lot of dirt in my fuel system. And said that was very odd and they have never really seen that before . So when I got my truck back I started looking and trying to figure out how Dirt was getting into my fuel system . I'm sure you can see where this is going. About 65 bucks for parts from a website called filler neck Supply and another 50 bucks for a set of mud flaps . Problem solved just thought I would pass along my experience with you
Yeah. I don't know why you flatbed guys put your filler necks down there? I built my own bed, and made a pocket for my (2) filler necks(added a 45g excursion fuel tank) and added on-board air system!👍👊
Mine are made by Air Lift on the 97 F350 dually.... were installed in 1998,They don't attach to the frame ,but to the self designed side plates that mounts the 1" thick x6 wide bar over the top of the frame rails, (no metal under 3/8 no bolts under 1/2.....We pull a 48' enclosed trailer & a 40 ' Big Tex Your instructions were right on point..When loaded we add air to level the truck. which helps in night driving (oncoming traffic isn't blinded by out of kilter low beams.....
Thanks for posting this video I got aF95 F350 diesel it rides really rough I wonder if yours got better even when it's unloaded I was reading through a website it says that you can remove some leaf springs to make it ride better
Whats that spacer measure that you put under the bottom bracket to level the bag out? I bought a used set of bags and didn't realize I needed those spacers for my truck. Was gonna buy 1 inch stock and cut and drill it. Thanks!
You may want to check your Amazon links. The Airbags that come up don't fit my 1996 f250 4x4 diesel. The punch, don't show up in your link at all. Great video though, I learned a lot. 😊
Guy in WY yeah it's super cheap I was just curious if that was part of firestones's system or your way of protecting the air lines. Good call on protecting a delicate part of the system on a vehicle that we all know gets worked hard.
