Hi! thanks for watching! This hob had attaching details already integrated into it. I just had to use a light force to push it down in the right place without any silicone or glue. Some require silicone like product. The others have attachments where you have to use screws. It really depends on the product.
Any advice for removing an old one thats glued on? It recently broke but it turns out the previous homeowners dumped a load of glue to seal it to the counter top. No amount of scraping seems to make it budge
Hi! It happens from time to time. I have used utility knife with longer blade to cut through the glue as much as possible. Then check from underneath if there are any additional attachments to the countertop. I would dry to move it from underneath. If this does not help, I would take a chisel or something similar, place a trowel on the countertop to protect it and try to use chisel to lift the stove slowly moving from side to side.
Now draw round it while it’s sat in place, then router the area the edge is sitting on 0.5mm less than the thickness of the glass surface. It will sit so much nicer recessed into the worktop in my opinion. ..Just an opinion though..
Hi! Definitely one possibility. Then you have to seal the gap properly, so it would not collect any stuff from cooking. A bit harder to do but if there is a will, there is a way :)
Hi! Would have been faster and better cut. I do not own this tool. At least not yet. Plunge saw would have been great as well. Both are in my tools needed list.
