Hi Colored light, My name is Karl. This video is pretty good and it could be super informative and would serve well as a how to install coilovers except the sped up time lapse is so fast that I could not see what bolts, order, etc. that you were taking off and or installing. If you have time, Please post a version where you slow down the removal and installation video and it would be a GREAT reference! Otherwise it is just a bit too fast to get really good helpful visual tips from it. It will be too late for me as I am doing my install today, but if you do post another longer (slower time lapse about half or even slower time lapse) version, it will really help the Miata NC DIY community. Thanks for posting your work
I just bought myself a miata and I'm really excited about working on it. Do you have any video about how to remove the plastic parts into the trunk? Mine has it wrong. I have already seen almost all of your videos! Congrats! nice work! and thanks for sharing
Samuel Golden definitely enjoying them. Driving to work each day isn't too bad. Definitely stiffer and the adjustable dampening is nice if you want softer or stiffer. I took them on some backroads this weekend and they performed great!
I went to there web site and could not find those for the NC so I emailed them and they sent an email that basically said they didn't carry them for the NC. Clearly you have an NC and you are installing Tein coil overs. I'm confused!
Did you unbolt control arm in the rear to get the coilover out or there is enough space without removing anything? I saw some installation video unbolted one alignment bolt for some extra space
New to your channel but kudos to your build. I have an 07 GT with stock Bilsteins. Wondering how harsh coilovers make ride vs stock? I really just going for a lower look not so much handling gains.
hello, I am also mounting the tein but I can not increase the height of the rear shock absorbers. I would like to lower it by 30 mm but there is not enough thread in the stem to unscrew! is there a way?
I did mine with the recommended settings from Tein with the flex zs and the front was about 1/4 taller than the back. I might lower them to the same height as the back. I decided to also replace the sway bar links, the rear was no problem but the front may corroded and the now nut is stripped, i might had to cut off the front sway bar links. I took the car in for a wheel alignment and the guy said that it was dead on already, not saying that everyone's else will also be good but jusy saying.. I got a lifetime wheel alignment so I can keep messing with it and just take it back to them for alignment.
I don't have a basis for comparison since all the NCs I've rode in on the track had upgraded suspension already. But the Bilsteins aren't bad. Obviously the ride height is way too high (NC2) and they are a little floaty on gradual bumps. When I put in the Racing Beat swaybar set, the handling transformed in a good way. It helped hide some of the Bilstein's flaws. Next up is proper coils.
I added sway bars first as well. Then a set of lowering springs. It made the suspension feel pretty good, but still a little loose. I adjusted the dampening yesterday on the Teins and it made the ride SO much better. It is my daily after all
Did sways make as much of a difference for your car as it did mine? It's actually amazing how much it improved cornering. And steering feels 100% more accurate and reacts very quickly to steering input. I didn't think it would do all that, but I was pleasantly surprised.
xStr8UPDoPex pretty good! It has that typical coilover feeling of a stiff ride. I haven't driven it too much yet, will be able to better tell daily comfort on Monday.
