Just received the Denali Aux mount for my 2014 New Edition KLR from you guys. This video takes the mystery out of wiring up the aux lights and the 12v source for the trigger. Thanks for the great work.

Do you have this mount for gen 1 klr 650?

I ordered the D4 kit for my KLR Gen2. I also ordered the data-dim module. I hope I can wire the lights directly to my OEM headlight switch so I can modulate the D4 intensity with the OEM switch. Will instructions be included?

Yes, instructions are included. You will have everything you need for that set-up.

I had a question regarding the included switch, is it a waterproof switch since it will be exposed when mounted on the handlebar?

Standard switches arnt waterproof, why they always have a hole at the bottom to let water out, just keep it well lubed with WD40 or similar and you'll be fine

Snow City in Toronto wants to charge 3 hours of labor at $112/hr for the hook up. Does that sound right? How long did it take you?

Hi, John. Total installation time can vary from shop to shop, the condition of the bike you're starting with, and a whole bunch of other things. We've seen a lot of these bikes, so it's easy for us to do it in an hour. But we also know exactly what to remove and where the wire's supposed to go, among other things, that helps make it quick. Three hours seems like a very cautious estimate to us.

Tackled it at home. There were a few issues however. First, while I would have liked to hook it directly to the lights, customers have to pay extra for this switch, which doesn't come in the original package. The package does have a manual switch but is set perpendicular to the handle bars, which makes it a bit awkward looking. Further, no screws are included in the harness! Since I had all the parts already attached and couldn't simply drive off, I had to uber a ride to a local HD to pick up two screws which costs less then 20 cents. Why not include them in the package? Finally, down to the last adjustment bolt on the actual lamp and the bolt was cross threaded or stripped! I am not sure why, but Denali uses some sort of spring threading. Was able to use another bolt which I did have handy, so no need to make a second trip to the hardware store.

John LeGresley the on/off switch which you received in the wiring harness, is that a waterproof switch? How did you mount it to your bike since it doesn't have a clamp so no way to mount on the handlebar.

Hi there! If you're reffering to the new Denali 2.0 lights, then yes the switches are waterproof! You can learn more about them in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XKDlLBWoh3Q.html or check out our blog for more information!

If you go to the link above, go to 1:12. It shows the switch and harness. I have two issues w it. First, they don't include the two screws, so if you only have the bike to ride, and you already have all the harness wiring attached, you can't simply jump on the bike and head to the nearest store to pick some up. (I had to uber it to the nearest hardware store). Secondly, the harness attaches perpendicular to the bars, so the switch will stick out and it is not cosmetically as smooth as it would be to attach it horizontally with the bars.

They seem like great lights with a great harness. It's a shame the kit come with that ugly cheap switch. Pretty common though, I have about 8 of them in my spare tools bin.
