A tip for people thinking of changing shocks, they can be removed one at a time with no jack or lift. Or use a standard scissor jack from a car above the rear wheel to remove both at once.
Olá Felipe! Seria possível me informar onde você adquiriu? Pretendo comprar, mas não tenho experiência em comprar peças e não conheço sites confiáveis. Muito obrigado!
It handles the road better but I have more riding to do in order to evaluate more in depth. It’s not a miracle, doesn’t change basic characteristics of the bike, just improves marginally and looks terrific. 😊
Hey - These are British Customs Predator Pros. They just slip on replacing stock mufflers, no need to decat. britishcustoms.com/collections/bonneville-speed-twin-2019/products/triumph-exhaust-predator-pro
@@MrFazvieira How is the sound of these compared to stock? I may be picking up a 2022 in a couple weeks and I was under the impression that the stock mufflers were welded.
When I bought it, I was asked about my weight so I think they have different springs OR they pre adjust in the factory. For your weight/load it's the spring pre-load. Start with the recommended and adjust to more/less to your liking. Your height makes no difference.
Hi Felipe, I am thinking of installing Ohlins on my ST12. Would you be kind enough to let me know the part number of the Ohlins unit, you put on your bike?
Sure - this is what I installed: Ohlins S36PR1C1L STX36 Reservoir Shocks - Triumph Speed Twin, Thruxton 1200 TR 923. It helped but the suspension on my ST was too unbalanced. I sold the bike and got a BMW R nine T and couldn't be happier. :)
Hi Felipe, This bike looks great with all the mods you have. I was thinking of ST12 but you getting r9t makes me wonder if getting R9T is better, becsuse its also also cheaper…
@@hamzaiqbal7339 I absolutely love the r nine t - the one with great suspension, I have not tried the Pure or Scrambler. So much character and I feel much more connected to the bike. ST tank is too narrow and my legs were always separated from the bike. R nine t is joy all the time and I love the boxer engine. I’d get a r nine t pure before a speed twin no doubt.
Oh yeah just noticed you said RnineT and not pure. Do you think pure is a good beginner bike and also suitable if you have a passenger between itself and ST? Btw, do you have still have the stock things on ST? I’d love to get them if I can afford
Wait! What? $1,150 for a set of rear shocks that don’t perform miracles. I’ll just go with the TEC brand and save $900+. The Tecs get great reviews. I have these Olin’s on my Scrambler XC, ya they’re fine, but the price is a rip.
Não tive tempo de regular o sag ainda - saí em férias antes de ajustar. Preciso ler o manual para ajustar apropriadamente. Interessante que o amortecedor entrou exatamente como o original, sem necessidade de ajustar comprimento!

@@MrFazvieira have been looking at those. what are your thoughts? i don't want annoying loud but want enough change from stock to make the purchase worth it.
@@indychingon For the 2022 it didn’t make much difference in terms of sound - the stock pipes sound good in my opinion, but I plan to remove the cat and I like these British Custom pipes with no cat as I had on a Bonneville T120. It’s all personal but it’s definitely not loud. I’d say keep the stock ones if you’re chasing sound as you won’t get a lot of improvement. A Triumph decat is not too loud (for me) as I compare to way louder bikes such as my Harley Road Glide with Stage 2 which is REALLY loud. But if you like the looks of these, they are brilliant.
Thats an expensive upgrade. Why not just buy a Thruxton? Now your bike will be even more unbalanced. You'll probably want to back those off a bit from stock settings. Most people say they're very firm.
Thruxton is different bike - different riding position, different looks, different purpose - all which I don’t want. All done here was an upgrade of the rear shocks with Ohlins designed for the Speed Twin, not those from the Thruxton.
@@MrFazvieira They're the same bike with different seat, tank, and the aforementioned suspension upgrades. Yes the riding position is different, but that's just the clip on bars and footpegs. I have the Ktech Razor iii shocks on mine, and believe they're a better match to the Marzocchi USD front forks. Smaller, lighter, better looking(black), and half the price of Ohlins.
@@andrewbecker3700 I’m good with my Ohlins. Why would anyone think I should get a Thruxton when all I’m doing is upgrading rear shocks on a Speed Twin! LOL
I just feel the Speed Twin doesn't really benefit from having all that adjustability out back. I chose to upgrade some other things instead. $800 bucks saved on shocks covered a bunch of mods. Hope you enjoy them and will be able to afford the rebuilds. Nothing lasts forever.
@@andrewbecker3700 It is a fair point. I will likely sell the bike before I have to rebuild shocks. I’m not super excited with the bike and how it rides, but I’m hoping this will help. It’s a fun bike though, and I love the engine.
