I stumbled across your videos while preparing to tackle a huge job for a friend and I have to say I love how genuine you are, no scripts, no fancy camera stuff, just you being real. I also really love your message about Jesus Christ :) I will be using these videos to help me through my very first flooring job, thank you so much

My click together, free floating lvp instructions say that I need a transition strip in each doorway. It gives those direction in bold print. I'm using Cali Bamboo Plus vinyl plank, 7mm thick, sold at Lowes. If I follow your vids for a zero transition floorplan, should I worry about warping or buckling? And can you explain your thought process either way? Thanks!

Your videos have been a great help. Thanks! I have 2 doorways that don't have doors or the moulding. (I guess they're not really doorways then!) My product requires a 1/2 inch between all walls, etc. How do you suggest I handle this type of opening? Will I need to add the moulding to wrap all the way around from one room to the next?

Question - Sometimes it looks like you didn't put down an underlayment or moisture barrier. When do you decide to or not to do that? Thanks so much for the videos!
@SoThatsHowYouDoThat

The floor you saw without an underlayment was a vinyl plank with an attached pad. A moisture barrier was not needed

Hi Joe, love all of your videos, they're so helpful! I will be installing LVP in our entire house soon and the one part that's bugging me is how to avoid having very thin strips for the last row. I'm guessing that you would use a method similar to that for hallways where you would reduce the width of the first row so that the last row could be wider? Thoughts?

Great stuff--planing, planning, planning--BUT, I'm in the middle now where my hall (with 2 bedrooms attached in flooring) is meeting up with the kitchen (also filled with flooring) has gone around an island and I'm off 1/4 inch as they meet up at the joining. How do I meet them up in flooring? I'm using glue-down LVT and really don't want to take up a bunch of flooring! Help!

I have a small house with lots of doorways and weird angles. I do not want transition strips because when using a walker or wheel chair it is hard to roll over. I notice that is what you are showing how to do.The laminate I have in my entire house has transition strips between every room. I hate the way it looks. Not to mention the difficulty crossing over with a walker. Wish son and hubs luck on installing and thank you!

Hi. Love your videos. I have a 40x50 basement that i am putting vinyl plank in. There is a 16x16 room in the middle that i need to work around so the flooring is like a square donut, with a square hole in the middle. How can i be sure that the 2 sides will still be aligned when i get past the room and need the run to be full width again?

We are putting Aqua Seal locking flooring thru our whole downstairs. 2 of the 3 rooms we can get down to the original hardwood floor, the kitchen however has 3 layers of laminate tiles. 2 are peel & stick the 3rd is old, thick & glued! My question is do we need to remove the tiles? We are trying to do no transitions. Thank you

Hey, when figuring out layout off your hallway centerline, would you measure throughout the connecting rooms where planks will land along the walls, inside of closet doors, around cabinets etc from that line andsee if you will end up with a tiny sliver anywhere and try to adjust your centerline? It seems like it would be hard to do a perfect layout like that with all that measuring, or would you start with your centerline and work off there and hope for the best? Lol
@SoThatsHowYouDoThat
@SoThatsHowYouDoThat 2 года назад
My biggest concern is to have the plank land in the doorways in the hall and then just let the rest of it fall the way it falls.

You can drill holes and screwed into the concrete or you can glue the straps down using pl400 construction adhesive but you will need to let that dry overnight before you can continue. Once you're all done then you can pry up the scrap pieces and scrape any remaining glue off the floor
