Now for the shocks. My front shocks came with sleeves already in them up at the top and the bottom so i figured that those two 3/8 sleeves had to be for the upper shackle of course. Now my old shocks had these cool sleeves the width of the space up there at the top but they also had a "washer" welded to it to keep the shock to the outter side and just the sleeve was exposed on the useless side about 3/4" to keep everything jambed to the outside. one is in great shape one is worn thin, bummer. I haven't concluded on how I'm going to make the shock stay to the outside yet. The kit comes with 4 rubber tapered spacers but i can't imagine how long those would last. Maybe a month then your shock is slamming left and right non stop over a washboard dirt road.
Here's my take being I just did this but with a 6". After trial and error I came up with this. GM has like 2 to 3 different eyelet sizes for the back of the front spring. I looked it up. The kit comes with both ways in the box. For me what happened was my springs ended up taking both of the 1/2" ID sleeves and the larger polyurethane bushings. I did have the 3/8 set up in the rear of the front spring like you have but it seemed confusing to what the extra sleeves and bushings were for. But I ended up using the 3/8 sleeves and poly bushings in the upper hole of the shackle through the frame. But by doing this I had to drill out my rear lower hole in the shackle to 1/2" and buying two 5" x 1/2" grade 8 bolts. No biggie. It was easy. Because you get 4 - 1/2" sleeves and 2 - 3/8 sleeves.
Yeah we got lucky on ours but these kits are a general pile of parts that should work, I think it depends on what has been changed and what year the truck is and did they put the right parts in the kit
Very good video. Only 2 things I have consern about is why didn't you use anti-seize on the bolts and isn't that bolt on the rear of the drivers spring going to make contact with the header pipe?
We didn't bother with antisieze as I find spring bolts usually come apart later if needed but one certainly could use it on them for sure. We have since changed the headers and we have good clearance but you could put the bolt in the other way if your situation warranted for sure
I did this to my 78 k5 and I absolutely hated it!! I put up with it about a year and went back to the stock setup. I did put the complete kit on Craigslist and sold it for about half what I paid for it.
Hey brotha great clip. Great information. I buying a 4 inch lift kit for my 1984 GMC Jimmy with a 6.2L diesel , from rough county. This clip really help weather I wanted to go with them or another company. This video it a year old, so any complaints about this lift kit yet?
Did you have any wedges under the leaf springs on the front end of yours? Just pulled old springs out and looks like someone had put homemade wedges in, but I’m unsure if I need them or not.
I have a question did you have to do anything with your drive line pitch on both front and back. Because I read that sometimes you can get a wobbly at certain speed with the lift? Because I really want to put this lift on my 79 K10. Thanks if you can help me out.

The 4 inch lift came with a 4 inch rise steering arm so the dropped control arm would have been to much. I like doing the steering arm myself as that way everything else is stock and can be purchased locally
Well, it's a lifted old truck lol, but all kidding aside it doesn't ride bad in my eyes but it isnt a Cadillac either. It rides way softer than the dodge cummins we have.
