Three minute crash course on installing rounded slate valleys. Demonstrated by Orion Jenkins of Jenkins Slate Masters and filmed by Joseph Jenkins, author of the Slate Roof Bible, 3rd edition (www.slateroofwarehouse.com/Sl....
I love how the narrator (assuming senior Jenkins) questions the installer (Jenkins junior) as though this is the first valley detail they’ve worked through. 😊💪🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️ That’s golden character on display. And is way more valuable than even those heavy slates!
Interesting! I've done and seen a lot of valley details....but this is a new one for me! We get a lot of snow where I am....so wondering how it fairs with freeze/thaw issues!
Why dont you use bulldog roofing cement of the valley slate seeing that you nailed high .if they are cemented at the top into the roof when they do break off from the nail holes being so high up there is no meat on that slate ..when they break they will slide out ...
Not the way to create a canoe valley. On this slope, valley shingles should be 4' longer than feild shingles and shouldered to create a true round valley. Looks ok but not an artful, classical execution.
