What I was looking for was what to do with it all. You're right, they are NOT composting toilets. After emptying is when the work starts. I don't have any pallets, but I'll find something! Thanks 👍
Currently struggling to get our 12ft 16ga brake adjusted. I can get the ends good but the bending leaf slips in the middle when I go to bend resulting in the middle of my bend being wide open and ruined. Chicago dreis and krump
Joe, we've been using your system now for 5 years at our vacation home in West Virginia. We didn't have a septic system and needed a solution fast. So grateful that we found you. When I get 10 buckets full, I empty them. Works fantastic AND we make compost 😃. Thanks for writing the book. God Bless 🙏
Not the way to create a canoe valley. On this slope, valley shingles should be 4' longer than feild shingles and shouldered to create a true round valley. Looks ok but not an artful, classical execution.
I still find u use alot of materials to soak up the wee, i tryed hemp sawdust coir coir znd wood pelllets , pellets are better but cost alot we dont have space for a 5 gallon buckets so we use half the size ut still have to empty every day , i just dont get it if the can last 6 weeks, if we leave it with lid on it smells , we most only pee in them so i dont know if it that x
I just moved to a little farm. they had several humanure piles about 64 cu. ft. worth. Years ago someone had told them not to add urine, so they pissed on the ground and the humanure was petrified and had been for years!. They thought it was a seven year processes.
The lady did all the work and got NO recognition! Terrible Executive Producer! Thanks again Joe and ? People love to tell me they would rather poop, pee and flush it all away. Poor souls. If they could only give themselves a chance to connect to nature.
what is an american toliet - shitting hole in a tube/pipe leading to our lakes. shit in the ground or a pipe is the same thing. 2nd. Kenya should STOP people coming to their countries experimenting o n their people. Every foreigner should have to be vetted by a government department. Too many foreingers are setting up fake doctor clinics, adoption and killing and abusing children. cheers~! Kenya and uganda are particularly bad in protecting their citizens.
I was schooled to pre tin copper at the joint section prior to making the fold for the seam. This ensures a more positive flow of solder into the seam/joint. This is also more inportant when you solder verticle seams. Is this a pratice that you use for solder copper seams?
We have often pre-tinned joints. You can also use a tinning flux, instead of pre-tinning. You can also solder copper without tinning, but pre-tinning or tinning flux will make it more fool-proof.
Do you know if rolled tin is still available for boxgutter and flatlock work anymore. Follensbee was the last known suppler that I used. It is no longer a manufacter of this material.
Sorry to hear about the chickens. Raccoon looked cute, but if it's eating your chickens it's gotta go. t. a transsexual, but not the one who got you bumped from Stern
I’ve got a playlist on composting liquid I call “CBCB” (Carbon Based Composting Bin) which is a pile packed full with “just carbon material” (minced leaves, strew, cardboard….) and using my liquid only as the nitrogen. “The long lasting” (I’ve gone over 4 months), very high, and predicable heat attained (easily over 120F to 160F) I hope to get out of the pile to heat a small greenhouse, chicken coop…. some day. I’m open sourcing this thought feeling it holds great possibilities for the Urban Farmer. Joe 🫵🏼 sir have been a major inspiration when it comes to composting the so called no no’s 👍 ru-vid.com/group/PL8OAnpHec404E8OONfkGj1YQw7OqS9Xgq&si=7wtKgKKC5V9H_nZH
8 coons? Damn. Yea we used to have same problem. Those bastards are smart and persistent. But when we got a fiesty outdoor farm dog, a female blue heeler who patrols like she's the sheriff, the coons vanished and ive only had 1 show up in 6, 7 yrs, and that happened when the dog stayed w someone else for a couple weeks. Took a bit to train her not to go after the farm animals tho, ha. Damn this video is 8 yrs old, was thinking it was recent oops
Mr Jenkins, can you compost used vegetable oil? I have about a gallon from frying food at home and wanted to know if the vegetable oil would be consumed by the bacteria. Have you ever tried it?
Is auto-combustion ever an issue with damp sawdust? I have seen hay stacks that have too much moisture self-compust as the bacteria inside them starts to feed off of the moisture and brings the heat up to combustion level. I've always feared the same thing happening with sawdust. BTW, live in a warm climate so it never ever freezes.
My bending leaf is sagging in the middle my angle metal is about in the middle of the leaf Chicago 1422 is the model. This causes the leaf to bind and really not work . A new to me brake. Any suggestions on what to adjust? Thanks Jason

Hi Jason. Is the bending leaf sagging down towards the floor, or out away from the brake? If you can make a video of what is happening, that would help
Yes it did not have the angle iron on it so move the one original up and got one more. Helped but still not doing the trick with the light gauge metal. Plus now I can’t do style D drip edge very well. I had to space out the end of the lower angle iron to pull out on the bending leaf it is so bad
