If you are running Scrypted as a local installation on Mac or Linux, you will need to update your apt or brew packages to include libvips, which is now required by Snapshot plugin. This can be done by rerunning the appropriate local install script which handles this automatically. github.com/koush/scrypted#installation Alternatively, run the following: Mac: brew install libvips Linux: sudo apt install libvips Windows and Docker users are unaffected.
Hi Eddie When i download scripted it works i get same message as u in terminal but when i go to local host/10443 or 11080 it dosent work i also tried using my macs ip but it dosent work i tried with google and safari in safari i get error safari cannot open this page as it is invalid and i've reinstalled it but dosent work pls help

Thanks so much! I have this working now. Quick question 1. Can I disable WyzeCam in the Wyze app. So that the video data is not sent to Wyze? I want to keep it locally and in icloud through HKSV. 2. When scrypted is running locally on my mac, is it also storing videos on my mac? or the only locations videos are stored are a. microsd card on the camera and b. icloud through HKSV
Your welcome... When i tried deleting the camera from the App - it throws the cam off the network. You can try and check if it does the same for you. Infact there is no further use of the app. Scrypted does not store any video locally. The video feed are stored either on the microsd card or icloud which is configured by the user. thanks
Hi Eddie, I am not a computer savvy at all, and even I was able to follow the steps and set up my wyze camera to my homekit. THANK YOU! I have one question; why would we need to uninstall scrypted? I am hoping to use it for other devices that are not homekit accredidated in the future. Is there any security problem? Should I install it from scratch, add the device, and uninstall every time I have a new device?

Great vid. I don’t know what happen. I got scrypted running. Got my wyze cam in. Secure HomeKit working. Then after a restart. Can’t get homebridge ui to open from safari. Can’t connect to local host. Homebridge is running. I can see from terminal. I don’t know what to do now. M1 Mac mini Ventura

Hello - Since you installed scrypted in different OS like synology, mac and rasberry, which one would you recommend? Based from the videos you have posted, looks like it performs well on synology. Can you share your thoughts? I’m planning to run scrypted but I’m thinking which hardware to run. So far my option are mac mini or synology.
Kenneth .. With either platforms - ensure at a minimum it's running with a 6GB ram. I'd tilt towards the Synology to be running Scrypted - it runs solid.
Do I need to change any Mac setting to ensure no hiccups in video feed? ie. if my Mac goes to sleep will HomeKit still show cameras? Or how does this work??
Yes you will need to change the Mac setting to not go to sleep - when in hibernation - there is a good possibility the scrypted service may be paused and will the video feeds will not show in HomeKit
I am amazed how easy it looks but has been nothing but nightmare. i installed the app first and didn't know it was NVR. I guess that instance is running and commands don't work to uninstall it, cant remove the app, so many people with same issue. I feel like the instructions must be from last version of mac off. I keep getting input/output error when trying to stop the server from the app so I can uninstall it. Because the terminal install won't let me install the non nvr version and errors out and says "close another instance of scrypted'" if running lol.
Well.... I had issues setting it up using a Windows 10 machine ... the documentation still says its still a work in progress. You may want to check the github issues or their discord channel to know how to uninstall the application. Cheers
Hey matthew - can you please pinpoint what error you are getting with the install. The issue i had was the BIOS time needed to be updated to the past. Once i did that i could continue with the Install

Finally got my IMOU camera working on scripted and on the Home app BUT I cannot find the HomeKit Secure Video Local Copy button anywhere and so HomeKit doesn't save any recordings like my other HKSV cameras do! Any idea where that button has gone? :D Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! :)
Hi Guys, can we use 8 to 20 POE cameras (like Armcrest) reliably using Scrypted without the occasional offline status ? We typically view the cameras using Apple TV. Logitech and Eufy wifi cameras are currently used. Going higher than 3 cameras, it's been pretty unstable. Offline here and there....cheers !!

Yes you can! Apple does it automatically for the last 10 days in the iCloud which doesnt count against your subscription. You can select and save it to your personal destination. And you can do the same via scrypted and download videos based on events.
Another point i don’t know how solve with scryoted on Mac mini , how do you install it as a service ? So it gets started after a restart without the need for you ti login ? 🤔

So if you install this on a mac, do you need to keep this Mac awake at all times so the server can run o can you keep it in rest mode? I only have one computer and can’t leave it on 24/7 🤔
I have home bridge running on the Mac and I have installed home-brew and scrypted using terminal. I have tried both ports given and both state "failed to open". Is it because of Zigbee2MQTT because I'm not sure if I have that. If so, how do I get that?
Is there a way to hook Wyze OG to Scrypted? since it does not have RTSP or as per your title this is for camera's with RTSP only. Would have been nice if the Wyze OG had RTSP :(

@@eddiedsuzathanks for replying! I finally got it installed. I can’t seem to flash the RTSP to my Wyze cams, though. I downloaded the files, followed the instructions, but it stays stuck on flashing yellow after the initial blue.
The installation got interrupted in the middle of the process, when I try now to install it again, I get an error message says: .scrypted/install-scrypted-dependencies-mac.sh: line 11: brew: command not found Error during previous command.
