I like mechanical gauges for pressure, when the oil heats up they keep the pressure better than electrical as electrical drops off and loses calibration in spring and diaphragm when hot and over time.

Mechanical Gauges Are Great But, This a "cleaner" option for pressure (i.e. not running line into the cab)

Why mount the sensor where you do vs the front port that is named, "pressure test port"...

The Accumulator port is where I mounted it and that where you get your line pressure from (manual stated as well as PDD)

Maybe I missed it but what transmission is he showing? He's giving specifics on which port but that could be wrong for my trans if a different model.

I’m gonna be installing a gauge similar to this for trans pressure. When removing that factory plug, do I need to worry about any sort of pressure release or fluid coming out when the trans is cold?

No Just Remove The plug and install your gauge/sensor
