In this video I show you how I installed the Bosch RA1811 router table into the extension wing of my Ridgid R4512 table saw. This process was fairly easy, and hopefully it provides you a good step by step guide on how to easily accomplish this.
Tools used in this video:
Bosch RA1181 Router Table - amzn.to/2IuyZmo
Bosch 1617EVSPK Router - amzn.to/2Zb9Q5M
Ridgid R4512 Table Saw - amzn.to/2Itoy2b

I just installed mine today in my TS3612 (has T-rail on both sides). I'm using the Bosch RA1165 lift mount so I can raise lower from the top. I'm also going to drill holes at front ends of rail slide tracks so I can remove my rail without unscrewing the 2" bolts. Happy Father's Day to me!!

I’ve had the R4512 table saw for about a year now and just received the Bosch router table today as a birthday gift. I had already figured the install would be fairly straightforward, but wanted to watch a few YT videos to see how others tackled it - yours was by far the best of the bunch on the subject! Excellent documentation of the process. Kudos!

I know it has been a while since this post however, 2 things I did. Turn your router table around where you can utilize the Bosch fence. This way you will have dust collection capabilities. Also, bolt the router table to the saw table as well. I know this saw is very smooth however, it will still have some vibration which eventually will throw your alignments out. If anyone is uncertain about long term support, you can install a couple of 3/4 inch box aluminum 5052 supports from the saw base to the most outer bolt on the router table support bolt.

You can also add 2 2x4 cut @45 on each end and attach the long parts as angled braces. I asked about table depth What size is plate cut out will a jessem lift drop into it.

Thank you! So smart and I found this very helpful. I have found another brand to fit my Craftsman version of the Ridgid, which I purchased the Craftsman earlier this year. Love that table saw. I also installed a 32" out feed table with folding 2' shelf brackets. So I can store the table saw away. Now it is time to install a router table in the Craftsman. I will have to do a video and take photos.

Thanks for the instructions. I own this table saw. I hate the fence system. It's garbage. Upgrading the entire fence system would improve this saw greatly but at that point you might as well get a new table saw.

That's a sweet installation and well documented, thank you! You've given me some good ideas for a similar project with different components. As food for thought, when you build a sacrificial fence, consider something that slides over the saw fence with an extraction port for dust and chips? Or it could be clamped on using track saw clamps and flush fit slots in the sacrificial fence.

I had been looking at the Bosch RA1811 with the very thought of installing at as an extension wing on my craftsman table saw . This is a 27" wide table so it is designed to fit most table saws. Thank you for making this video as it helps me make a better decision as to buying the table. I was wondering if you thought there was some way to mount the table to the saw with the legs still attached because I need a portable router table to take to a job site now and then.

Thanks for putting together a clear video on this. I have the saw and considering adding the router table. It's not clear from the video but does the Bosch fence work in this set up - dust collection is always on my mind with the router? Also, is the router table high enough for a miter gauge or jig/sled to still work in the miter gauge slot and clear the saw's front and back rails?
@DuraWoodworks
@DuraWoodworks 4 года назад
I never tested the fence that came with the router table, so can’t say for certain if it would work. My best guess says it would though. I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t. As for the miter gauge, I believe the fence rails would block that.

Do you think that table weighs less than a double stacked laminated 3/4 MDF top in the same dimensions would? I've seen a lot of people make table inserts out of MDF but I'd be concerned of all that weight pulling on the rails over time.
@DuraWoodworks

Whats the table on the saw frt to back your standard 27"
@yzmoto80
@yzmoto80 4 года назад
At 7:14... your right side extension wing is way out of plane with the table of the saw. You can see in the video how you are having to raise the right side of your new Bosch router table more than the left just to bring it in plane with the (out of adjustment) wing. How can you be getting accurate cuts and support of your work pieces (on your table saw), with your extension wing incredibly out of adjustment. Once you get your wings nice and flat with the table, add support legs to the fence rails, since you will be stressing your tedious work tuning your wings with the added weight of a router table and router. You need to start with a table saw tune up before you add router table tops to it, if you want your completed table saw/router combo to be a winner. Your on the right track, but your putting your wagon in front of your horses.
@DuraWoodworks

@DuraWoodworks
@DuraWoodworks 3 года назад
The only thing I have seen people do is 3d print new rail guides, but I have heard its still only a small improvement and you would need to get a custom fence to make a drastic improvement. www.thingiverse.com/thing:3463727
@funfreq9282
@funfreq9282 3 года назад
Another thing to check on this saw is how square the blade is to the guid rail on the table. The Trunnions on these saws can get pretty sloppy. You can literally bump the saw and move the blade out of square by as much as 0.50" You might think it's your fence but in reality it's the blade.
