How about cleaning the flow sensors? They must eventually have issues with calcium buildup. Can you take them apart and soak them in vinegar? Can you expect a similar maintenance schedule to pumps and powerheads?

Hi randy, you reference using the great white pipe joint compound with pfte, however Neptune says you can't, and I can confirm on the 2" sensors you get nothing but frustrations and water leaks, I spent a few hours putting together and taking apart the fittings trying to stop the leak and could not until I used type 555 compound

@rsgcommercialinc.8522 5 лет назад
Test Test, this was invaluable advice. I skipped right to the 555 compound to put my two, flow monitors in place (I have two, Cor-15's). No leaks at all and equipment working great. Thanks.

Being new to the reef community I find it hard to understand some of the stuff you guys talk about. And when your talking really fast in your vids I find my self having to go back a couple of times to really hear what your talking about. Apart from that you've been really helpful cheers guys.

BulkReefSupplyCom I thought it would be more by now. You had the same amount months ago. My tank is 120 gallons with less SPS and I am over 200 ml now.

Welcome Randy. one thing about what you said about doing stuff with Fusion I think that stuff only applies to the new Apex and not the Apex Classic as I do not have the ability to check module updates, do firmware updates etc from fusion. just an FYI :)_ Lookin forward to more HowTo's

Very nice! Hey my Fusion doesn't seem to have the modules or network tab to click on for updates. Is this only in the new Apex or am I doing something wrong? I click on the gear and they are not there. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Hi randy if I am using 32mm pipe (11/4") does that mean I need to step down to 1" to fit the flow meter.

I have an FMM module with my ATK kit. I have ports 1,2 occupied with the ATK and 3 by an optical sensor for low-level warning in my reservoir. I have a 1 Flow device plugged into port 4. There is no tile available when I unlock fusion. Is there something special I need to do to get the FMM to recognise both an ATK and a Flow device?
@battyjoe
@battyjoe 6 лет назад
I found out that you need to go to the FMM module, select Action - configure, select the port concerned and disable autoconfiguration, select the relevant flow device size from the drop down and away you go :) We have all learnt something today ;) Great video though, was great to meet you guys at RAP the other week (the Dubai pilot guy moaning about not being able to buy via the hotel I stay in when in the States with work .... soon I hope :p )

I know this is completely off topic from the video, but I'm a new reefer and I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions I have. My first question is I have some purpose coraline algae growing on my rock, but there is also a fast growing algae that is dark bluish-gray. It spreads quite fast. Is that algae okay to have in my tank? My second question is, is there a way to make coraline algae grow faster it my tank? Or I just have to wait for it to spread?

Great video, guys. What would you say to those of us that have gone with Digital Aquatics in the past? I have invested in 2 currently running systems which makes Neptune quite cost-prohibitive. Do you have any inclination if DA will bring anything like this to market? Feeling pretty envious over here. - Thanks

Good job using the compound on PVC pipe instead of teflon tape! (Even though it's messier) Threaded PVC manufacturers recommend the compound, but everyone usually uses tape.
