Thanks! The FMK has been used by quite a few on our NSI team already and it has given them some incredible insight!

Great video. I almost understand it all. Maybe by the fifth time I watch it, I should have it figured out.

I know it goes by fast - we have to do that or many will not watch. The beauty of RU-vid though is that you can slow down video or go back as many times as you like! :)

Another good addition to the app and new controller, liking how u are doing different stuff. Shame the new energy bars are not available in U.K. Though as that really would have been a winner.

These videos are extremely helpful in understanding your products in a quick manor. Please keep putting them out. We find them very helpful! If we put a FS-200 Flow Sensor - 2" with unions on a 1.5" return line coming from a feed pump it will work just fine? How often do you suspect these will have to be cleaned? Is there any kind of calibration done with them or life on the sensors?
@NeptuneSystemsVideo

Thanks, they take a lot of work for sure so its good to know when we have hit the mark!

Do you recommend place the FMK on the return line to the sump? It would be difficult for me to attach on the line to the tank.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
The flow sensors should be placed on the flow (return) side, not the drain side.

Neptune Systems nope! Switched to GHL, got tired of waiting for a simple device to be released plus I'm not a fan of the new toy like Apex.

On the 2" Flow Sensor, what's the recommended length of straight pipe before and after it? I know in industrial settings, there are typically minimum recommended lengths before and after. You may also want to throw in any measurements for the other sizes of sensors, for others that may read here.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 6 лет назад
It is 10X the diameter, but we have seen very little variance with half that amount.

Don't mind the BSPT threading as long as I can find replacement unions and connections. Where would that be? I found one place online but they want $46 for one 1" union!
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
Yep, they are not easy to find - and spendy. We will have them available in our company store in the not too distant future - don't have a price for you yet - but it will be a much better price than that.

Cor pump when is it coming? Also have you guys ever thought of doing ammonia level monitoring like the Seneye does. Being so invested with the Apex gear I'd love to monitor ammonia.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
COR went out to NSI last week. Ammonia monitoring for saltwater is rarely requested.

You made the cor 15 pump have 1 1/4 inch plumbing but you do not make a flow sensor for that size you guys should think about making one that way I can connect it to my cor 15

just ordered from BRS so i know the flow back to the tank and the flow to my reactors ..i have the wav pumps now explain the flow on them mine says 4.3 what does that mean// 125gal tank
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
Look in the help section on Apex Fusion for info on the WAV. there is a scale. 4.3 for tank FLO is pretty impressive!

I just received my FMK! What do you recommend sealing the threads on the 1" flow sensor to the union with? Paste or tape?

Brett Smith did you watch the "get started" video?
@brettsmith4695
@brettsmith4695 7 лет назад
Is that the video by Aquarium Specialty? If so, paste it is. Any certain kind of paste? I picked up some Rector Seal 5 today, but there's some differing opinions on these here interwebs whether paste is safe, or if you should use PFTE paste. Thank you for your quick response!

Why isn't there a 3/4" model for those with a smaller tank which would need a smaller return line than 1"?
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 6 лет назад
Because you use the 1" model and then use step down bushings to 3/4". This is actually much better as it will also not create restriction.

Its unfortunate that you sell your pump with a 3/4 out, and a coupler to 1 1/4 and not 1 inch. Where are the fittings to directly transition from the COR-20 to the 1 inch in as little space as possible? An plans for a 1 1/4 or 3/4 inch flow meter?
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 6 лет назад
Generally it is a good idea to upsize your flow meter at least one size from the main line diameter. This would mean that the COR would be optimally run with its included 1.25" union and then a 1.5" flow sensor. Since it is not feasible for us to have a flow sensor in every size, we went from 1" to 2" knowing at any one in-between could use bushings to step down from the 2" to a smaller size - such as 1.25".
@flynnpaul26
@flynnpaul26 6 лет назад
You sell the FMK with a 1 inch, so if you would think you advice would involve the 1 inch sensor.

Why no 3/4"? A lot of products use 3/4" plumbing like UV sterilizers, reactors, etc.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
Wylie Coyote you can easily use a 3/4" bushing and it will work just fine.

I thought Neptune was a american company. Don't understand why they have British threads that we need to add something that is going to restrict flow as they pointed out at the beginning of the video.
@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
BSPT/BSPP are the standard worldwide. We sell products all over the world. And on the 1" and 2" models, because you would want to take these sensors out when they need cleaning or should they ever fail, you would want unions anyways. So, this way we can have fittings that will work everywhere, and in the USA you get free unions with the sensor!

@NeptuneSystemsVideo
@NeptuneSystemsVideo 7 лет назад
Having a hard time understanding this comment. There are standards in the world so one had to be chosen. The molds for all these sensors were already established and using them meant that we could bring a super affordable product to our customers. Other standalone flow sensing products out there cost hundreds more just for measuring one pipe. Add to that we have included quality unions unlike most any other product on the market. The unions alone on the 2" sensors would cost $28 each from BRS. Our 2" sensor WITH these unions is just $99. You will have an impossible time finding a single flow meter device, including the unions, with email/text alarms, etc. for 2" plumbing for $200.
