I dont see how this would be of any benefit without the stock airbox. With the stock airbox this would feet right in, that injen intake isn't lined up with it
N.Driver the production version of the injen intake removes the factory air box with a heat shield that blocks the hot air from the engine it also helps feed the cold air to the intake
Its nice to see more aftermarket parts going on sale for our Veloster N’s. The color of the snorkel stands out too much but thats just me. I would've bought it in black so it doesn't stand out when you are looking at the front of the car. Otherwise, great video!
what is the point of that when the stock airbox is gone? that is just to feed more air to the stock box, I put an aci on mine and removed the stock one cause no point of having it on when stock box no longer there.
Just wanted to add a comment about that radiator shroud I have a 19 turbo ultimate and I was worried about that radiator shroud but brought the big mouth anyway. When I took my bumper off low and behold there was no radiator shroud on there only two side pieces on the right and left side. I did have to trim the drivers side to fit
@SynergyMediaUSA Hi brother does taking off that plastic piece that covers the radiator pose any risk to the radiator/ engine. Or performance in general. i want to make sure before i order the big mouth kit lol.
Seems like a cool product, but I definitely wouldn't want it that visible. Not because of the look of the product, itself, but because it sits in an odd, unsymmetrical location. Kinda gives you that vibe that it's not supposed to be there. I'd definitely want it in all black. Secondly, I have to wonder how well it actually works. It feeds the engine bay air, but it doesn't necessarily look like it feeds it right to the intake.
Hi from Scotland! I have the Hyundai i30N performance, your cars sister , European version, what a car she is! Is yours a stick shift? Love that gearbox. So, your video was great, you made it look very easy as I'm sure it is. I will be getting one soon and using your video hope to install it myself :)
Feels is subjective. Other than looks I'd bet no real gains from this piece. Oh and you really should reinstall the radiator duct/inlet. Crucial for cooling.
@@SynergyMediaUSA Good call! these little cars run hot and the ducting is there to maximize air flow through the radiator. Modern radiators are very small in application and need ducting to increase air flow. Where you having temp issues or hood flutter? I was going to order this and planned on modifying the ducting to fit. Thanks for posting the video.
Are there any disadvantages like the possibility of sucking in water? That’s where I’m a bit skeptical about it. Also, have you hooked up the stock air box to see what breathes better
I have the rally edition and same exact ingen intake also but I put a greedy blow off so that one hose coming off your intake in the front near filter, I simply sealed off tightly. Is that okay? As I'm always getting a error code now with relating to air flow. The BOV is correctly connected to the manifold. Greddy FV1
Using this with the stock airbox and bypassing the baffle by routing air directly to the intake port on the air box would be more effective. Did it myself...no big mouth but spin tyres easily, sometimes without even trying on a regular six speed manual elantra.
Are your putting the Upper panel back on because you're actually having a problems with cooling or is it because, you're being influenced by comments to do so? Have you checked underhood temps and IAT's? Are you getting higher temp gauge readings?
@@SynergyMediaUSA Thanks for the input!! I didn't believe there was a problem either. Just needed to make it apparent for others. Thoughts and comments, tend to run rampant and turn into idle gossip without the slightest bit of understanding.
This is totally pointless without the factory intermediate piece that funnels air into the air box for the filter. Should have gone with the Sxth Element box to make this work. Total waste of time otherwise!
Still running without the upper panel? Temps still at normal after the trip to Ontario as well I saw. Have you run it hard and at longer durations as well, without the Upper Panel? There's some interest on the subject this is why I'm asking. Take your time, use a dremel and cutting wheel, if you are going to show others the reinstall of the upper panel. Make a template and use it as a guide. Finish it off with some similar foam tape around the cut edges or some black vinyl cover metal weather stripping.;) . Are you data logging the IAT temps?
Dean Dillman in order for any aftermarket piece to void warranty it has to be a direct cause for the failure to the vehicle. This i highly doubt would ever void a warranty.
Anyone know if this would fit on a 2013 na veloster it has the stock grill cut out and screened and it's going to have a takeda cold air intake to tie it all together if it can even be installed.
That injen intake sucking up all that fresh HOT air in the engine bay. Absolutely nothing cold air about these short ram intakes. Don’t know why ppl install them. That “big mouth intake” not even lined up with your hot air intake. Dude this is all wrong.
Yes, it's louder, it's a nice sound. But why ? the engine and turbo need cold air, not heat. It lowers the performance of the car rather than increases it. It does not make sense. And it also does not benefit the engine very much. And the mouth is not even flush with the filter. This is good for the original BOX@@Chingdogs
I can see CHP fucking with you because of the CAI and pipe. Its best to keep the plastic one it will run much cooler then that aluminum pipe. Just feed that new part into the stock air box.
so you took out the shroud that keeps radiator cool and then a open "cold hair intake" which the air isnt even in line with the air filter. get a closed system intake and a turbo inlet. you literally downgraded your system yikes
i did feel a difference this morning. on my drive to work. the purpose of the big mouth is to direct as much fresh air as possible since the stock duct is restrictive.
Synergy Media i understand this I was more curious of the fact you’re running an open air intake over the factory unit. I know the scoop is designed to be used with the factory air box. And I was curious if it helps feed cooler air to the open element
Hot air intakes your fired watch the video. Especially with turbo cars. I have a Elantra Sport my engine bay temps were in the 150°when I had a ricer air intake.. that didn't last for long. Now I have built a HYBRIDTurbo assist true cold air to water intake system sram/lram Semi inclosed box.it uses 4 heat exchangers+and mini water-cooler sys. That's is meticulously place through the system which also heavily insulated. Now my IAT are around 50°to 60°f instead of 150°f And since Hyundai place the intake tube next to hot engine I had figured out how to Cool the whole system off inside and outside its a secret. And I recorded all My test results so none can call me a liar. My Prototype is worth around $2,000 to $3000 range. No one knows what feels like to be running cold air on a hot day. Or no one knows what it like to cool off your air before you drive if you car has been setting in the sun all day. And having a manual controlled HYBRIDTurbo assist I can turn up the boost to get even more colder air for more power. I will post some videos of my project. Because I'm tired of looking at these so called cold air intake and they are not. Ask any real racer mechanic engineer you need a designated artificial air plus outside ambient Air to see real gain's and your going to have to spend really money not $200 to $400 and think your on top of the world.
There is plenty of logic, even if it’s not directly lined up with the filter, it’s still a pushing a concentrated amount of cooler through the engine bay near the filter.
