Just installed mine and you are spot on about those flimsy ring clamps. I started torque at 25ft/lbs and they snapped before that. Great video, thanks! Edit: I guess from what I’ve seen, it’s a typo that they never fixed and it’s supposed to be 25 inch pounds. A bit too late for me but if you haven’t done the install yet, there ya go.

I have 2020 scout sixty and had the same issue trying to remove the existing exhaust. Indian must have changed the stock mounting in the past year or so. You have to remove both of the 8mm bolts because the stock exhaust mounting tabs are now on top of each other with the two bolts going though the upper and lower exhaust .

Just an unrelated question. I’ve just got back into biking after a 24yr hiatus. A bought myself a lovely ZZR1100 and all I seem to want to do is ride the thing like a madman, it just begs me to rip the throttle open and pin it, bloody nightmare. I really want to enjoy biking again without losing my license or something worse... I’m thinking about getting a bobber so I don’t feel the need to ride it like a lunatic. Do these bikes beg the inner demon or are they fun to ride without the need for speed? Sounds nice by the way. Cheers
@SpectrumGeeks
@SpectrumGeeks 3 года назад
Personally, I don't think it begs to be driven like a demon. I actually forget how much power it has when I blip the throttle actually. I think it helps that it sounds loud ALL the time, so you don't feel like you need to push on alot to get it to growl. When on my CB1000R I deffo feel the desire to give it the beans more.

I tried installing these pipes on my bike, the mounting bracket was too short, but I think what's happening is the heat shield on the mufflers interfere with the heat shields on the pipes, when you installed the mufflers did the heat shields slide over the heat shields on the pipes or did they butt up against each other??

Don’t bother. Just buy cheap tips for $100. They’re both extremely loud and sound identical. Putting Vance and Hines pipes on is the same as having straight pipes. If you want to run neighbor-haters, you can do it much cheaper.

Hi, I installed a Vance and Hines on my bobber as well. Sound is awesome. Mine is loud without the quiet baffles. Do you have the quiet baffles on?
@SpectrumGeeks
@SpectrumGeeks 3 года назад
No quiet baffles. I enquired about them, but they dont seem to make much difference. So for now they are stock, will see if it passes the noise test at MOT time.
@josephparry
@josephparry 3 года назад
@@SpectrumGeeks Not a chance unless they are mates of yours. I went through 3 places today to enquire about noise concerns and every garage said it would fail MOT. So I've just ordered the baffles. Plus I get such a headache riding with these, the idle sound is so obnoxiously loud there's no way I feel comfortable riding through a town / housing estate with them. I rode at 10mph through town with the clutch held in to be as quiet as possible and people were visually angered by the volume of my bike. It's the same bike as yours, and same pipes etc. So if you can actually ride with these with no issues, fair play. Far too loud for me personally, and I love rock/metal and loud shit haha :D
@SpectrumGeeks
@SpectrumGeeks 3 года назад

@@SpectrumGeeks That’s really awesome you haven’t had issues, the bike sounds great! Just for where I live (lots of houses) there’s just no way I’m not going to get complaints. Have you ridden near police etc? I’m shocked if you have that nothing happened haha! Baffles should be here on the weekend, so will let you know, VH claim they drop off 3db. So I’m hoping that cuts the idle down a slice.
@SpectrumGeeks
@SpectrumGeeks 3 года назад
@@josephparry Yeah been near Police, etc. The only time I have found it abit too loud, is when I popped into town with building either side, it was abit OTT. However, I don't go that many place, just ride for pleasure, vs purpose if that makes sense.
