I take out carpet same way then duct tape roll to stay wrapped up to transport easier. Taking out the thousands of Staples on the floor... What's the next challenge for me but my 8-year-old was a big help I couldn't believe how helpful it was she pulled out Staples for hours with me
Yup. It is zero fun! I installed DryCore myself on cement floor, and it was major pain. Also, almost gave up. But I took a break and did finish it up myself. Looks great!
There are shims with adjustment wheels on them for wall edges to help keep that straight line. Also for underlay. I only use 6 mil plastic if the boards are pre-padded. Vinyl tends to not like thick underlay. So the thinner stuff works better. Although I stopped using vinyl all together. The laminate you can now get is insane for water resistance and the surface against scratching is 10000 times better on laminate. Oh and the reason for the 6 mil plastic is for moisture or liquid. On concrete is so moisture does not make to the planks or surface liquids to go below. On subfloors made from ply its so water does not get to the floor. This is also a reason I do not like pre-padded planks.
So I just moved into my new home (rental) and I do have to fix up quite a bit, but what’s stressing me out the most is the floor in my walk-in closet. It was originally a small shed, but since it was so close to the house and our room didn’t have any closet. He knocked down the wall that separated the 2 and made it into a closet. The problem?? the floor is literal CONCRETE. UNEVEN concrete at that. Problem # 2 i can see areas of the closet that wasn’t sealed right. And I want to install peel and stick tiles but idk where to start. Please help 🥺 TYiA
