Ingredients Required:
Whole Garam Masalas
( Mace, green cardamon, Star Anise, cinnamon Stick, shahi jeera)
Ginger Garlic Paste, 3 TBSP
Oil, 3 TBSP
Yogurt, 3 TBSP
Garam Masala Powder, 1 TBSP
Red Chili powder, 2 TBSP, (Skip if you dont want to be spicy)
Coriander Powder, 1 TBPS
Onion, Half an onion, Sliced
Salt, as per taste,
Turmeric powder, half a teaspoon
Fried Onions, 1 cup
Mint Leaves, 1 cup
Coriander Leaves, 1 cup
Rice, Basmati , 2 cups,
Lime and Onions for Garnish.
Boiled Eggs, Optional.

What is Chicken Biryani?
Chicken Biryani is a layered meat and Rice dish.There are many different variations to Biryani. Most of the time, basmati rice is used and the most popular meat is Chicken. Alternatively, Lamb, Goat, shirmp and Egg variations of Biryani have captured the imagination of the Biryani loving crowd?
What makes Biryani special?
Its the aroma and the taste.
The special blend of garam masala and the cooking technique make it stand out over other meat+rice dishes.
Kachi Vs Pakki Biryani
There are two methods of making biryani.
The word Kachi is urdu for 'raw', whereas the word "Pakki" is urdu for cooked.
In Kachi Biryani, the chicken and the rice is made at the same time in the same utensil.
In Pakki Biryani, the chicken and rice are cooked separately and then brought together to finish the biryani.
Which is better?
This is matter of opinion. Everyone has their preferences, so one cannot say definitively. However, the biryani made in most famous restaurants in Hyderabad as well as around the world is "Pakki Biryani".

In layered biryani can we reduce the time of pressure cook ? Bcoz rice is already half cooked

nice recipe, rice looks very fluffy too. I learned using InstantPot from your videos but I have one small suggestion: when opening the lid please be a little bit careful ie, open it from the side away from you so that way if there is any sudden steam it wont hurt your skin. We Indians use pressure cooker a lot but sometimes InstantPot can surprise you with more steam.

I used to have a Pakistani family living next door and I got fed this now and then and I have missed it since they left. I have looked at recipes to do it myself but they involved more than my patience would allow but this one looks more attractive. I particularly like the Rice being par cooked. One thing though I am certain she added Cardamom pods to the rice. It tasted wonderful anyway. I feel I can do this, thank you.

I tried this chicken biryani and it came out very well. one question, for some reason, the bottom of the instant pot burned a little bit . any suggestions where I can improve?

She mentioned to make sure to stir well before adding rice to lift anything that is stuck to the bottom and add liquid if to creamy just enough to cover chicken

In addition to what Lorie said...while sauteing the chicken...make sure saute is on 'Low'. A little bit of food sticking to the bottom is normal.

Just got done..I followed every direction..used 3 different kinds of utensils to make sure nothing is stuck!! N here we go burn notice..What!! So I quickly took it out tightly covered n put @ 350° in oven for 20 min..let's see what happens!!
