Love your videos! So easy to understand:) And for someone like me who has ADD😬 need info to be explained very clearly! Thank you so much! And it is wonderful that you take the time to answer your subscriber’s questions:) You have a new subscriber here☺️👍🏻
Thank you! Using mine for the first time tonight and many of the recipe videos use terms I don’t know! “Natural release 3 minutes” just means I wait 3 minutes before sliding to vent position?!! I thought it was something I was supposed to program it to do haha. Fingers crossed my kids get to eat tonight 😂
Not yet! But here are some uses: - I use a trivet for any meat that has a dry rub (such as ribs). - For recipes with a minimal amount of liquid because elevating the meat will help the liquid to cover the bottom and come to pressure easily. - For delicate foods like fish because it makes it easier to lift out. Hope that helps.
@@PainttheKitchenRed Thank you! What about chicken thighs? Chicken breasts? And does it matter if the meat is frozen? What if ribs don't have a dry rub? What about plain pork chops? Errghhh I'm clueless and loving my Instant Pot Lux 6 qt!
❤useful thx I just received my 9-in-1 and still figuring out anything I should press when I close the lid or it’s auto seal = natural pressure release? Anyone can advise? Thx a million
Hi Nena, I am so confused about natural release. Do you have to have a timer. I know you set the recipes for pressure cook and you set a time, but when the recipe says like ten min. After the natural release is done. Do that mean that after the pressure cook, do you then need to set a timer for the amount and then need to quick release. I do know the little button has to be down before you open the lid. See how I am confused. Just messed up with reviews the way they red or say what to do on utube. Just do not undrrstand quick release time frame after it is done. Do I need a timer or do I just do a quick release after the button goes down??? Please help..I need it. Had my pot for almost two weeks and have not used it. Have purchased like 4 cookbooks on the instant pot and want to get started using them. Lots of good recipes out there too. I even asked you about how to cook regular long grain rice which I love. I do not remember seeing a answer from you on that. Oh by the way I have a Instant Pot Duo Plus. Thank you..Bonnie H in Michigan. Keep smiling. 🙂👍🙂. I am going to watch your video again on Different types of releases on the IP. Hope I will understand it. Have watched it like 3 times. Recipes get to natural release for 10min. I do not understand. Sorry for the long message. 😞😞 Bonnie H.
Hi Bonnie - I'm sorry that my videos haven't cleared up your confusion! When a recipe says to quick release, you wait for the pressure cooking to be done (i.e. pressure cooking timer goes down to zero and beeps) and you press Cancel and immediately do a release of pressure by pressing the steam release button (or if you have a different model, you turn the steam release handle from sealing to venting). If a recipe says natural release, you just wait for the float valve to go down on its own which may take a while - no timer needed. If a recipe says 10 minutes natural release, you wait for pressure cooking to be done, and the Instant Pot display will go to 0000 and then begin counting up (If, at this point, you find that the display says "OFF", that means Keep Warm is not on - it needs to be on for the count UP timer). When the count up timer goes to 00:10, you will do a pressure release. Yes, you either need to watch the timer on the display or you need to have a separate timer in order to the 10 or 15 minute natural release.
