In this video Andrew tackles the daunting task of installing a sturdy and insulated sub-floor in Daisy, their 2018 Ram Promaster.
There is still lots to do to finish the sub-floor but this video covers the materials, tools and steps needed to frame, insulate and install a plywood sub-floor into a cargo van.

Van has been in the shop since right before quarantine, but just got back yesterday! Thanks for some great inspiration. Excited to see how you finished the floor.

Thanks for watching and glad it gave some inspiration. We plan to put our finished floor on soon but man having the plywood floor has been a game changer for comfort while building

@@DoubleAVaneries What are you planning on using? If you were to do it again do you think you would have used as much below the ply to make the floor frame?

@@MrCzapczynski well we have both sheet vinyl and click/lock vinyl planks but haven't decided which to use lol. Will let you know. I think I would still do the same. But will see after we do our cabinets I like having so many places to anchor down our cabinets etc though

you can use three quarter ply no insulation reflectix close cell foam and mass load vinyl the wood framing is a waste and metal to wood just transfers the cold to the floor.

I'll keep that in mind for next time. I wanted tougher anchors for all my benches and furnishings than just 3/4 ply so happy with my design still

Finally, a video that seems to have gotten it right as far as how to insulate and fiup the floor. Maybe I missed it but how did you attach 1” x 2” wood strips to the floor? Glue? Also the insulation...did you just glue all or it? Some people screw down the wood strips after the glue but I really don't wanna do that. What do you think?

Yes the strips are glued down used liquid nails. I believe part 2 of this video shows and explains my process for doing this. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
