Part two of insulating and building a sub-floor in our 2018 Ram Promaster. In this video you will see us build templates, cut our sub-floor, clean and treat the wood, attach the furring strips and insulation board with various glues, fill gaps with expanding foam, seal it all with reflectix tape and screw down the sub-floor.

I did my subfloor by myself using 2 x 2's and an inch of Poly ISO and 3/4 in plywood and it took me two week after work a few hours a night I sealed and painted the plywood and screwed down the plywood to the 2 x 2's using the cargo anchor bolts as additional support to hold the floor down without making any new holes in the floor. I'm now ready to tackle insulation. Yeah! Great video it show you don't need to have experience to do this.

THANK YOU for showing how you attach the framing to the van's floors! I've been watching through many other build videos and they never seem to show that part, and I was concerned that I might have to drill into the floor. Liquid nails is a fantastic idea!!

Thank you so much Jason! We definitely put a lot of time into it but feel pretty good about it so far. We just finished our first road trip with it and the floor has held up great. Video of the test trip to come :)

I noticed you had just a small amount of kilmat on your ceiling. I used one box for my van and ran out just as I finished but before putting anything on the ceiling. I’ve read it wasn't really necessary because of the way the ceiling ribs are. ”They” say the ribs already provide sound deadening. What’s your take on that? Did your research tell you that Kilmat on the ceiling was needed? Was it just leftover so you put it on the ceiling? Trying to figure out if I need to buy another bOx. Thanks very much. Really love your videos. You don’t skip over stuff that other people think is it necessary to show. But in my case, I’m doing this totally alone and have no experience, I need all the details I can get so it’s appreciated. Thanks

Thank you so very much for the comments and watching. We had extra and later added much more than you can see here. It is true that ceiling is a lower priority but you will still get some sound coming from roof. I don't think it's necessary by any means. Depends on budget and how important sound deadening is to you

Having a tool belt is an easy way to keep all the random stuff from getting away from you like your pencil, measuring tape screws and whatever your working with that day. www.lowes.com/pd/AWP-General-Construction-Leather-Tool-Apron/50175665 I couldn't find a link to the one I have but that is close enough. Then you just have to remember to put your pencil or tape measure back in the belt when you finish using it or you walk away from your tools. It does save you a lot of time over the course of a day by not having to look for the same pencil 40 times. I am doing a PM conversion also and while your floor is a little overkill, as long as you are enjoying it, that is the whole point. :)

Brad you are so right! I need a belt. Thank you so much for watching and providing feedback. And yeah I think the floor was a slight overkill but it was my first project and it's worked great so far. Would love to see your PM build!
