@@theknifeconnection9571 not the point though. The adjuster is fraudulently adding damages to the claim that he is liable for. Reverse the roles: if you were up there on your roof with him and you damage your shingles showing him wind damage, do you think he’d be ok tacking that on to the final payment? He’s violating the contract that the insured agreed upon when they purchased the policy. It’s bad, regardless of the total amount of damages. And ultimately the cost falls on the insured so you’re paying a new, higher rate that could’ve been affected by that extra damage (probably not in this case but in general).

Our government, the US federal government, has lost 21 Trillion dollars over the last 25 years! That's 66% of the US national debt lost with out records of where it was spent! During this same time period the cost of living has increased by 99.6%. The cost of owning a vehicle has increased by 250% and the cost of owning a home has increased by 300-400%! Minimum wage has increased $2! So that can't be the reason. Hmmm so what could it be? From the year 2000 till today Corperate profits and corporate executives wages have increased by 1500-3000%! My grandfather died a millionaire! Worked 35 years for one of the largest health insurance providers.. a non profit! A few years after he retired the board voted to increase their salaries to match the private for profit sector! Wages for executives went from $150k to 500k to 3.5 million up to 7 million! Just imagine how many insurance policies it takes to cover each of their salaries! It's been like this across the board in Corperate America and is why we are dealing with massive increases in everything! 50% of Americans are struggling to survive while the top 30 million live in luxury! If it's not stopped the wealth gap which reached record levels in 2019 will lead the USA to a total economic collapse! You can only milk the hardworking people of America for so much before there's nothing more to take! Currently someone buying a $240,000 home will pay over $522,000 for said home. You're literally buying 2 homes and giving the bank 1! Eventually the massive increase in cost of living will lead to another collapse. It's not a matter of if but when!

I worked for a construction company as a canvaser when I was younger. My job was to go door to door and tell people they might have damage from recent storms and offer them a free roof inspection. Then I was expected to get them to sign a contract with our company thru their insurance to repair any damage. I made like 15 an hour and 50 dollars for every contract I got signed. When I asked for help one day from one of the higher up guys, he climbed on the roof with a nickel and started digging it into shingles like a mad man. Then he took pictures to show the home owner all of the "hail damage". I found out he was making 5k per contract that I initially got signed. I quit the next day. Apparently there was a lawsuit and I had proof of everything but didn't want to be involved because I was young. But now I realize I could've gotten paid out pretty damn well and maybe helped some home owners get reimbursed as well. Definitely a common thing I'm sure. Pretty shitty if you ask me!

God damn I hate insurance adjusters. The last time I dealt with one was on a plumbing job. The stack broke, the stack was inbetween 2 walls, so the homeowners had no idea it broke as it was impossible to see. We, as plumbers came in and even guessed the wrong side of the wall it was on, as there was an addition added on to the building the in 70's, 150 years after the building was built, concealing the stack, which typically in this neighborhood would have been outside of the wall. The stack broke, we opened the wall and there was black mold throughout their kitchen. The insurance adjuster said, "yeah you can claim that on your insurance but, if you do, we will drop you from your policy and add you to a blacklist so no one will insure you." So that homeowner paid outright for the repair.

I could see multi-layers, the type of style, how old, how much damage, and all from a single inspection. The company I worked for I have complete faith they'd never do anything like this. They have door to door people who look for roofs thst already look bad or siding and windows that look bad before they knock on the door offering a free inspection. I'd go in to inspect for free and then based off my inspection I'd try to sell them the roof. Or other item. If it was a perfectly fine roof I would have just written them a clean bill of health and moved on. That was encouraged in the business. The #1 priority of the company was integrity. Even though sales didn't work out for me, I know I'd still get those things from that company.

The most feared accusation that an insurance company can ever hear is that they are "acting in bad faith" and your going to sue them for their "Bad Faith" actions and/or inactions ! Insurance companies LOVE to stall any/all claims, they have hundreds of lawyers on full time retainer that they have to pay whether they litigate or not so stalling your claim is a way to financially weakened the claimant into settling for less. Full replacement insurance is not always what it claims to be, it's ALL in the fine print and almost nobody ever reads their entire contract. I won in court against State Farm on a 1.2 million dollar fire claim and the jury awarded us 3.8 million because of the "Bad Faith" evidence that we produced. Farmers Insurance had just paid out a 101 million dollar claim against them a few months prior to our case for their "Bad Faith" actions against a claimant and that particular case helped us immensely.

It does take more time, but what would the homeowner prefer, they pay out of pocket for damages, or it takes a little longer and the insurance ends up paying for it? id assume the latter of the 2.
