Hey guys, finally another racing video! Keep in mind my goal isn't to make this car all that fast, I just want to mod it to where it's reliable for the CVT since it can't handle as much power as the manual transmissions ! It's been over a year since I've uploaded one, so hopefully you guys enjoy it! I wanted to show gou guys the best tires for the 10th gen civic! Racing starts later on in the video so be sure to stay tuned! Let me know what you guys think about my affordable dope racing camera setup! Downpipe and frontpipe with a custom tune coming soon! P.S: Most races were done the same night, so just to give you an idea that the Rev9 intercooler gets the job done! Obviously if you have a bigger turbo or want a bigger turbo, I recommend getting PRL's or Mishimotos intercooler! 👍🏻

nice video! I wish i had an Si, but it wasn’t available when i got my Civic. i have the 2017 ex-T cvt with full bolt ons and upgraded turbo. stock was 175hp and im sitting at about 305hp and 250tq. if i go flex fuel, my tuner said i can reach about 350hp on the cvt. this thing is a slingshot and im gapping cars i have no business gapping. im at 146k miles now and running strong. all the car has ever needed was maintenance and the AC condenser warranty replaced. This platform is pretty nice to work on as long as you do everything properly. Looking forward to more of your videos. I like seeing what other people can do with theirs 🙏🏼

People hate but for what the power level is even stock turbo and how light these cars are … they are quick no doubt . My buddy has one and it’s surprisingly quick for what it is . Don’t need a crazy amount of power of it doesn’t weigh shit

From what Ive seen its seems 250ftlbs is about the torque limit - keep it at 250ftlbs and 7000rpm and thats 330whp which isnt bad but not as fast as most guys want

Try this next time, when you're flooring it in D you'll notice the rpm goes to around 4000rpm and kinda slowly goes to 5000rpm but if you floor it D and switch to S when the rpm is at 4000rpm it'll go much faster to 5000 to 6000rmp where the most of the power are for cvt and after too

I’ve tried that before and it works! However i just brake boost on Sport mode and it’s faster than that. The D to S switch does go quick but not as quick as S brake boost. L to S is quicker and convenient too! 🙏🏻

@@the_batmobile0.4 haha yea its a lot of stress hut been doing it since i first modded the car. 60k miles almost and still running strong. Mainly because i only race in temperatures under 65 degrees Fahrenheit and i change my cvt fluid every 20-30k miles so that’s keeping it good. I remember being late by like 5k miles on the cvt fluid and my car got 2 cars slower. Fluid maintenance is key.

I really like the CVTs. With the Turbo, I think this car is pretty quick. I've raced some people on the highway and most of them lose. I don't have anything modded, but I do use premium gas and keep up on the maintenance. I raced a Tesla P100d and it seemed to have trouble passing me at several points. (He did of course get around me). I need some friends like you guys.

Careful with that cvt/engine 230whp it’s a huge increase from stock. 180hp at the crank stock to 250ish is a 70ish HP jump. Very clean built

Thanks man! Derek (biggest/best tuners for the 10th gens) said cvts can handle 300whp+ (however increasing the risk of it breaking). He said hes heard of a few cvts fail cause of too much drag racing (only the ones with bigger turbos). That gave me a huge peace of mind cause I thought it couldn’t handle more than 250whp. It’s the torque curve you should watch out for. Making torque way early in the rpm is what slips the cvt, clutch, destroys engine rods. I have a friend with a cvt making bit over 300whp and it’s running fine. A bigger/higher flowing turbo actually makes it easier for your drivetrain components as the lag makes it produce torque and power higher in the rpm. A stock turbo on flex fuel is what you need to really watch out for when it comes to drive train stress

Yes its possible, however i know PRL discontinued their cvt cooler. I don’t plan to install one since I only race at night, and I’m always changing my transmission fluid every 30k to ensure it’s good to go. 🙏🏻

Holy shit man unreal to see a cvt civic take down these other car!! I have a cvt accord for a daily that I'm considering running a ktuner base tune on. I read another comment what you said about the paddle shifters...so its much safer to not use that feature and just let the cvt do its thing? Ktuner claims its basemaps are safe for the cvt...what's your thoughts? Thanks man great content 👌

Yea so far the cvt is at 63k miles strong now! I recently put a downpipe/frontpipe and custom tune and its still running strong! One day it’ll go, but thats fine cause its like a clutch replacement haha 😆

My 2017 EX-T CVT just completely blew up about a week ago at 12k miles. since then its been replaced but now im scared to retune or mod at all so im reverting completely to stock. I was running TSP stage 1 tune with a PRL Cold Air Intake and PRL DP + FP and barely making more power than stock

Oil dilution no issues for me and cvt is running just like new at almost 60k miles. Yea be careful with accords, they have paddle shifters which stresses the cvt more because it gives it 6 gears. I’ve been informed that cvts with paddle shifters are likely to fail because of the downshift torque/stress.

Sick vid man. You should get some LED's or HID's to complete the look. I got some Lumibright XT1 Gen2 LED's. I get stares from other civics/cars even thoogh my 10th gen is stock with only lighting upgrades. If they're too expensive the Alla Lighting Mini FL series are really good too.

@@CsGoUnlimited dope bro Solid mods. I recommend getting ktuner so your engine is properly reading the intake, then the intercooler, clutch, and then e85 kit.

But yeah I think that’s what I’m gonna do but I got the street intake so it doesn’t require the tune but I Hurd the factory intercooler is trash and that if I tune it first it’ll impact the engine badly and lose performance so I got a little scared lmao but your civic is nice man love what you did to it

But yea don’t worry to much about the stock intercooler being trash, i had a stock intercooler and the other mods for the longest (about 40k miles or so) and yes it would get a lot of heat soak, but i would only race or canyon runs at night below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, so i feel that helped a lot with reducing heat soak. My engine is still running perfectly fine. However if you are going to be racing in the day, I highly recommend an intercooler asap. But a tune before the intercooler wouldn’t be an issue. However since you just the street intake, an intercooler is a good next mod. 🙏🏻

Mi CVT esta en perfecta condicion y tiene 61k milas, y hecho muchas carrera. Esta bien la CVT si tienes un buen tuner. Buenas llantas y cambios de aceite de transmision cada 30k milas es lo que recomendio

I haven’t voided the warranty because I haven’t experienced an issue with it, im at 63k miles and have extended warranty until 100k. Doesn’t affect gap. And i recently went fbo e85 which ill be doing a video on soon!

Only because i didn’t want to spend extra money to get all 4 good tires, so i decided to keep the front ones performance and the back ones economical tires. For the reason that it’s a front wheel drive car so only the front tires are important

@@layzy24 yes, majority of race cars or drag cars, have bigger tires on the front or rear or all depending if its awd/fwd/rwd. For the convenience of saving money. However, its not to say the toyo tires I have are bad, but they are stock width and somewhat performance but can’t handle the power my car pushes when racing without slipping.

You can hear he’s shifting the evo quickly it’s probably near stock and the Civic is lighter, has less drivetrain loss and rolling resistance, and makes almost the same power.
