I just saw your whole series and this is awesome, I have a auto integra I bought for my first car a couple years ago, I want more power and tuning the auto is a pain so I decided to go manual and this whole series es very useful
Finally was able to find your channel again, this year was quite interesting. I purchased my first Integra around the same time frame you started posting the manual transmission swap videos and you guys really helped a guy out with all the little details other videos don't have. So I just wanted to say thank you guys very much! Keep up the great work with the channel
That's exactly What I used on my Integra, castrol Dot 4, Penrite 8 year coolant and trans-oil penrite 75-80 were the same. Im be upgrading internal engine next month cams, port and polish everything. Remember me with the Red accord euro haha.
Mission accomplished. My 1994 LS runs way better in manual than auto. The better part is when accelerating, feels like the seat suck you in. Totally different way of driving from now on, gotta get used to it now after 18 years driving automatic. First was my 1987 Jeep Wagoneer Limited with an AW-4 and now the DB7, but after that, even in traffic jam I rather drive manual than automatic, not only because manual is fun while driving, but for me manual transmission are more entertaining for drive instead automatic. The better part of the swab was that ECU has not turned on the check engine light. Got transmission, shifter, clutch master cylinder, slave, disk, plate, flywheel and bearing from a 1998-2001 CRV and I feel that the SBXM runs pretty good. Diff ratio is 4.56:1 over S80/Y80 which it's 4.4:1, got good punch when accelerating. Going to fit a little bit bigger tire to bring down fuel consumption and rpm's while going on 62 mph (100 km/h). Here in Panama is very difficult to get a S80/Y80 because it's sold (used of course) between 1000-1200 transmission only. Shifter, flywheel, pedals are quite difficult specially on the engine. But as I told before, I got the parts from a 1998-2001 Honda CR-V and my DB7 is a different beast compared with the automatic transmission.
Great series guys! Much Love from Upstate NY! The teggy came out great I had planned to do the same manual swap on mine but unfortunately my integra got towed a few days ago and the impound is refusing to give it back to me since the car has not yet been registered =(
I've been wanting to do this to my 98 integra, since I burned the auto transmission. The casing had been leaking for a while. But I have already have a 2001 civic manual. 🤔 Anyways nice job. Turned out good. 👍
We didn’t because it’s obd1 and the ecu doesn’t throw a check engine light so you don’t have to touch it, only thing is that it idles a little higher on cold starts but I think that may also be caused by the lightened flywheel💪
Hey so I did a manual swap on my 98 integra the car starts but when you add gas the car will slowly starts to die, car will not rev or anything. Do you know the reason why?.
The ECU in my Integra was a funky obd1 - obd2 style ecu and so that allowed me to keep the auto ecu. If you are obd2 I would recommend grabbing a manual ecu
Hi, I'm having issues with my DB7 transmission and I'm not going to spend repairing it. I'm going for a manual transmission, can you tell me wich one to go with?
@@ValveHouseAUThanks dude. Right now I have one S20 on watch but I'm not looking for a gearbox under 4.30 final gear ratio. I'll be checking here for any of those gearbox models. Excellent job on the swap!
@@ValveHouseAU Finally I got everything to change the automatic transmission from my Integra to manual. I got the manual transmission from a 1998 Honda CRV, B20 engine. I was checking and rechecking your videos swapping the auto for a manual and I was wondering if you bypassed the TCM or just did the swab and that was all or that model does not have a TCU or even needs ECM configurations for manual transmission. My DB7 LS is from 1994.
I didn’t have to as I had no check engine light. It depends what ECU you have but you will need to swap if you get a check engine light unless you can deal with it being on all the time
Anybody experience any sluggishness after the manual swap I just finished my swap and it seem very sluggish I’m still rocking the auto ecu and been debating if I should switch over to a manual ecu
At a rough estimate I would say around $1850 for the manual swap but it could definitely be done cheaper if you get a cheaper clutch, stock flywheel etc.
The centre console came off a manual Integra but the centre console is exactly the same on both models, the piece you’re after is the shift boot piece that clips in.
