In a world occupied by people whose entire vocabulary consists of stringing a series of "you know, I mean, well-um, look, obviously, like, right, and so," with and occasional "you know what I'm saying," then ending a sentence in a preposition, usually "at," it is a pleasure to listen to a succinct, professional presentation. Thank you!
I have now watched a couple of the videos of this guy, insulation, windows, building, and I am amazed by the accuracy, attention to detail, and commentary. I just LOVE the fact that you come back and say "As an afterthought, I think it would be a good idea to chaulk this... Cheap insurance", That shows you care, and that it's not just a job to get over with. When I build one day, I want YOU to come help me :) I live in Arctic Sweden, 65.64° North.
Started watch CCHRC about REMOTE systems. I can't say enough good about the professional quality of the presenters, the attention to detail, the discussion of techniques and option. on and on ad infinitum. I had to subscribe and search out more of your videos. Or I could simply say GOOD STUFF!
Nice and informative! First time I seen metal siding ran horizontal, always seen it vertical.....Never seen anyone cover entire window frame like that with ice/water barrier either...If the water makes it that far on other side of window , nothing is going to keep it outside home and Its going to end up causing major issue no matter how far that barrier is to the inside. Awesome job ! I hope them windows dont come with open cavities in them like that , that's gotta be huge areas of heat loss being just plastic...hope it was just due to being a cut away frame.
This is really good. The only detail I wonder about is top of window where the rainscreen runs into the trim and j-channel. Water gets behind the siding, runs down,.... maybe a few weep holes drilled would do the trick so it doesn't end up trapped there.
Very nice professional, A-1, first class job you have done here on this window/jamb/siding detail....you have not missed a thing!.....I have one question; Why do/or have you run the metal siding/rain screen material horizontal?.....Just for a different look? Just wondering....I have used similar metal siding in pole barn construction projects, and always run it vertical.....Thanks, Carpenter Tim.....
