What I don't like of the video is the no sense. In video you announce an old a super old cpu and it doesn't run on most videogames, but the reality is that trying 4 K you get an extra issue, 8 GB RAM is an extra bohtleneck if I'm not wrong. Maybe I'm. Because more resolutions means more vram. I don't know if RAM increase right now. And in general the video show crearly how good performancd the system. This explain a easy theory. Good cpu, good motherboard and good RAM allow long time of many gpu generations, but as technology is so fast and change so much, this time even the theory ir real. Nothing is forever. And CPUs in a period of time, mothetboard and ram aftet all is needed to upgrade them.

Devs are lazy to not make sse3 compatible Very curious how wuthering waves, genshin impact and honkai star rail perform that with a q6600. Unity and unreal engine are very much compatible with those.

To watch how bad or how good is, even when at home I have a similar worse cpu and it runs some games yet.

@@franciscomanuel7377 still, no one's gonna use their CPU at 100% and leaving GPU at around even 70-80% usage, at least for games.. he/she may could just buy a new CPU, upgrading it.. There's no point even in knowing how good it can do.. if it's a powerful CPU and a weak GPU, it makes sense in testing the games. Not the weak CPU with a powerful GPU lolz... Who even does that 😂

Because my brother decided to gift me a pretty modern GPU when my old one simply died. :/ i7 4770 in single channel 16 GB RAM DDR3 with a RX 6650 xt. Also I could see how a intel core 2 quad can handle almost fine a GTX 660 but the old died RX 470 was too much for that por intel core 2 quad making pretty much stutering apparently. But bigger FPS.

funny I was thinking the exact opposite. Put up a 17 year old gpu and even steam would barely load, while you can still pull enough framerate on modern games to actually interact with the world on a 17 year old cpu

This is entirely wrong. A modern cpu with 8GB of ram would run dozens of times faster.

@@jek230 There are urban legends about p45 era with 16 gigs RAM but I have never seen any of them working. The problem here is not just the 8 gig slow DDR2/DDR3 but the FSB throughput which limits the RAM speed as well. Thats why westmere architecture was a huge improvement with the integrated memory controller.

If he was using a m.2 ssd, he probably used a pcie to m.2 adapter. That board had two pcie 4x slots.

The CPU is so busy that it can't tell the GPU everything it needs to do on time. A more powerful CPU will be able to give the GPU more instructions, allowing it to get busier.

the Q9650 might be double the performance of the q6600 i think.

I'll bet he was using one of those motherboards which could only address 8GB of RAM. He needed a good P45 motherboard for 16GB. Then again, according to the spec pages of a lot of lga775 motherboards, they'll list 8GB as being the maximum, but they'll actually address 16GB of RAM.
