The "i-series" ends this year, with the 14th Gen being the last version. They will move to the Core Ultra in 2025. I wonder if Intel will move to CAMM2 next year, as the Core Ultra has soldered RAM. For me, 2024 is a filler year for AMD and Intel. If you can, I recommend waiting until next year to upgrade. I hope we get a performance upgrade with CPU and GPU, along with improved neural engine enhancements.
Agreed. I picked up an i9 13900H laptop, but in 2025 I'll be getting a Core Ultra 2nd Gen, I presume. Should have all the issues ironed out...hopefully
as to why certain things have higher multi-core and single core scores I don't know but having more cores doesn't make a computer faster it means it can multitask better but having a higher clock speed per core does mean that individual tasks are done quicker. The analogy that I saw was if you need to drive 100 mi, having a second car doesn't get you there any faster, But it does mean you can bring more stuff at the same time.
Very informative video! Congrats 👏🏻 A quick question. Do you think that ultra-9 would induce overheating issues to thin/lightweight laptops. I am between an ultra 7 vs ultra 9 zenbook 14 oled. What do you think? Thanks
just a request . it would be alot more better if you could make the performance charts and show them with colour code or some sort of key for easy comparisons. thank you .
very nice video thanks ,........so witch out these ones gives good pcvr, steam and steam vr for meta quest 3 combo option as am looking for budget vr portable machine that can be used with my new quest 3 ,as lapto i have is hp elitebook so dosent have vr gamse ready thing, anyway thanks
🤣 oh no no nooooo laptops aren't exactly made for VR gaming not in the slightest because the graphics card are a little bit lower wattage wise it's more made for actual gaming
Intel should have called it Core u7 vs Core u7 Core u9 vs Core i9 Where u is performance + efficiency core + arc gpu And i is only performance core, which requires separate gpu
You shouldn't use Tekken or any fighting game for that matter for benchmarking. They're all intentionally capped at 60 so we can't see a gap between the devices you're benchmarking
Avoid the Ultra like the plague. I ran several test machines, both models the fans were blasting all the time, unbelievable hot they ran all while just idling basically doing nothing after a simple windows setup. These things are garbage. Qualcomm is better, but still way too much power and heat being generated. You can't beat Macs ARM architecture still. I'm not a fanboi, just reality. Intel and MS have really screwed the entire laptop market up with terrible technology.
I came here to know about processors why am I being shown some laptops 🙄 looks like I'm seein some laptop review insttead of Processors 🤔 not cool. waste of my time and I left.
thank you for shitting on 16-in laptops. you just made one comment about the fact that 15 is better but the fact is that like all of our peripheral stuff is designed around laptops that are 13 or 15 inches. And the extra inch adds a surprising amount of bulk and weight and it's just not that beneficial like the point of a laptop is that you can take it anywhere. not supposed to compare to like a 49-in monitor or something like that it's like it's supposed to be portable. 15 is like a good sweet spot And it feels like this bizarre push for 14 and 16-in laptops is literally just like it's a bigger number so people will get it because it's bigger and it's like but okay now you're powering a larger screen so your battery life's going to be worse your laptop's going to be heavier and bulkier which means it's not going to last as long it's just stupidity And obviously I'm a little too incensed over this but it is just like one of those dumb capitalism things where it's like no we found we found the right size guys like we can move on and we can innovate in other ways
Do Apple users not realize even the base model MacBook Air is beyond budget for a lot of people? Like, it's literally not an option. At least you can get a laptop with the Core Ultra 7 155h for like $800 and depending on the model you can get a touch screen, a higher refresh rate, bigger RAM and internal storage (plus it's upgradeable), and even a dedicated GPU for gaming. The battery life tradeoff is absolutely worth it and you just spend less money.
