My NUC recently started the WHEA problem on 8.1, I get it once a week for no obvious reason. A year ago Intel gave the final update for BIOS and I cant go further. The error says "hardware error" but there is nothing in Device Manager that is wrong. No other info is given. I have previously updated all drivers from Intel and there are no more available. What to do?
@@vincents687 Ok i ran both memory and chkdsk and no problems found. I thought it could be the fan, they do go bad, but its running fine. Updates can also cause WHEA but i have not put many updates on, and I have no idea how to find the one that may be causing this. Again, the error message says "hardware error." I googled the error code and got nothing. It says the error info is in a file on the NUC that cant be opened. I tried to send to MS but it wont send, nothing happens. This is my second i3RYH NUC with 8.1 and never a problem on the first one which ran the same programs and level of updates. I dont run strange or incompatible programs. At the time of the WHEA yesterday, I was watching a YT vid and either clicked the header or X to close the window and the crash came.
I mean, if your computer is not booting it would be good idea to use the usb or otherwise if it works but has the error you can download to the drive as a .bio file and you should be able to see the file (after selecting which drive to use)
Can you check if fast boot is on? Or if you prefer, you can install the Driver and Support Assistant from the Intel website. Follow the instructions on screen to install it. After it's done installing, check the diagnostics for what drivers can/ need to be updated (this includes the BIOS version too). If it has an update, it will allow you to download it and install it. Note: make sure you have saved everything's on your PC because you will need to restart it.
WARNING: if you force shutdown the PC while update or after 100% but you throught it will force shutdown after 100% in one second, your BIOS will be corrupt and you will need to flash the newest firmware for your motherboard it will restart or shutdown itself once the update is completed
@@user-tj7hk1ss8d what do you mean ? Do i have to wait til the coundown is completed to 100percentage .. if so then why it isn't increasing .. its showing 0 percentage for the past like 10 or 15 minutes
Right when the computer boots (not the OS) there will be a list of keys that will show you a specific function (ie F7-BIOS), click the key repeatedly to get to the UEFI settings
