I'm a game dev and a composer - you've absolutely blown my mind. Until now I've been dealing with mitigating decent loops between careful DAW exports and the default capabilities of Unreal Engine. Never even attempted hacking together custom section transitions. Now I have to try Wwise next time. You're excellent at doing tutorials, too. The audio's clean, your voice and script are very clear, you convey a good amount of information without being overwhelming, and maintain engagement the whole way through. I didn't even notice 40 minutes had gone by. Please consider making more tutorials!
i’m sure you’ve already seen in the patch notes but in case you haven’t + for anyone else wondering: in the latest reaper update (6.58) a new render option was added which solves the problem you were facing at 8:20, in regards to the region render matrix and the master track. at the top left of the render menu, in the “source” dropdown, there’s a new “region render matrix via master” option :)
Aaaaaaaa. You make me miss my game audio phase. Wwise + reaper is such a powerful combo. Im so impressed with how much you got this figured out, I didn't even know you were into this! amazing carloooos
I'm so glad you're using Reaper, such an underrated DAW. I bookmarked Wwise, I'm sure it's going to be useful for me at some point. Very well explained, I subscribed just after I saw your community post a couple days ago, and It was the right choice after watching the whole video.
Thank you so so much for this video!!! - As a student studying composition/music tech, I haven't really looked into implementation yet but this has really helped give me a taste for wut its like - thanks so much!!! It was really easy to follow and well explained! Would love to see more of this kind of explanation videos - even on the theory analysis side of things/production side of things :)
Music production is super interesting! I have subbed immediately! Super cool to see what goes into comparing your pieces! Also Sinnohvation just came in through the mail today! I will be listening so it extensively tomorrow after my exam!
Although I'm not really interested in this music making (because I don't think I have enough dedication for it) I really find this interesting Also lovely music!
Great video! Really inspirational to see how you implement rubato jazz pieces in Wwise and it's a good reminder that you don't have to lock yourself in to a certain BPM in Wwise, but it can be a bit more fluid. I like your tips about auditioning loop points and transitions in Reaper. What I usually do is to use the SWS Region Playlist manager to test transitions between sections or even how a combination of 3-5 random segments would sound
This reminds me of the seamless transitions FF7R makes between battle and overworld versions of its tracks! What I'm trying to say is that you are on par with triple A developers! Excellent job!!!
Beautiful! Are you ever gonna upload the song by itself to your main? It's so beautiful, I'd love to add it to my playlist in the form of a normal song! (Sorry if you said what you're doing with this song and I didn't notice, haven't finished watching)
I wasn’t planning on it, at least not in this form! Maybe if I did a bigger more complete arrangement of it, I would, but this is just sort of a demo version!
Great video! I'm also using Reaper and Wwise. I also like the quality of the video. May I ask you what software have you used to record this video? I have tried several software, but when I start to record my Reaper or Wwise screen the audio starts crackling. Maybe in my case it's a low CPU problem (I have an old MacBook Pro, i7 2 cores, 16 GB Ram)
Are you running Wwise in a VM? Some of the UI looks like Windows rather than macOS, and it’s obviously not Bootcamp or some other kind of dual-booting method if you were able to switch between it and Reaper so quickly. Although, I remember you saying something about Bootcamp on Discord to do with streaming something on Twitch? I think I’ve confused myself.
