That's awesome! Glad I could be of some help. Hope your fuel gauge is showing the correct reading after re-installing. My float stick got a bit bent while re-installing and now the fuel indicator doesn't go down to the last bar and stays at 3 even when fuel is close to the reserve level. Will need to re-adjust.
Finally, proper video with details and sequence, thanks, also I loved your modified fuel tank, what sort of finish is that, is it matte paint or exposed metal finish ?
Thank you so much. I bought a Ravishing Red tank 2nd hand on olx and got it painted matte gun metal shade without lacquer/ clear coat. Wanted a raw look, haven't seen any other similar shade on the road yet. Made this video as there were none on YT yet with proper steps.
My fuel strainer/filter was clogging up so I would run out of fuel with a half a gallon still in the tank. I had to replace the fuel pump because I could not buy just the strainer/filter. Do you know where we could buy just the strainer so we don't have to throw away a perfectly good fuel pump? Very good video. Thank you.
This is why is don't like RE. They don't sell the components separately. Even the fuel pump o-rings aren't available at the service centre. You need to buy the whole fuel pump just for a couple of o-rings. To answer your question, the only way to find individual parts is at a multi-brand garage or a bike dump yard.
Please don't use petroleum jelly, this will melt with heat and leak onto the engine. Also, can damage the O-ring in the long-run. I have used 3M chain lube instead, it creates an airtight seal and also is heat resistant. Got this tip from one of the mechanics at RE.
