A lot of people get captivated by these decors but the truth here is that I see a lot design at the expense of function. Imagine living in this space and you'll know what I mean.
For those who asked about the no fail tips: 1. First make a floor plan to figure out what furniture pieces are needed where, how large and considering room flow. 2. Secondly choose a rug that you love. From there select wall collor and overall pallete. 3. Use enormous mirror and more mirror surfaces to make the space look larger and brighter, especially when dark moody colours are used. 4. Choose the comfiest sofa. 5. Use a space devider such as open book shelves. 6. Use plants and floweres. 7. Use a bench for extra seating and conversation but not obstucting the view. 8. Use impressive chandelier for a luxutrious vision. That's what I draw from the video. Although for me the space is overly decorated with meaningless objects and feels cold and impersonal.
+Stacey Kersting hahaha, I love your reply. I was gonna comment the same thing. can't somebody lend me some money, like a 100 million dollars if not billion n won't ask for return. :P
Replying 8 months later, but here is what I got from the video in no particular order: 1. Navy is a neutral option instead of the usual black white gray or beige. 2. Don't put your furniture against a wall if you can help it 3. Layering is always a good idea 4. Bench is a good option for extra seating (it can be tucked away and it is not cumbersome) 5. Include some contrasting elements i.e (old mirror with the chrome legs) 6. Design your area around one piece and everything else will come together. 7. One thing to invest in is: lighting because it makes a statement and can be extravagant. 8. Always focus your design around comfort and conversation flow. I do agree that it wasn't very clear.
This is a beautifully styled room, really love the mix of contemporary with rustic and traditional. But I don’t see how it could be kid-friendly at all.
I love all the pieces, that stool w/ the zebra print on it is thee perfect touch. Cowhide is in now & I think it pulls in that vibe, amazing job guys 👏🏼🤗🙌🏼💕
This space was perfection!! I really like her take on interior design. Love the art on the walls! Who doesn't love a triptych? I do not like dark walls, but it worked with what she was creating for the living room. I am already terrified of color on the walls, so I would never use a color that dark... maybe one day I can learn to welcome in such as bold statement.
Candis C They set that up in a warehouse, had it been in a real home with standard 8 or 9 foot ceilings the walls would have felt like they were closing in on you. You'd need a large room with high ceilings to pull that look off in real life.
This layout is absolutely gorgeous. The matte gold or name against the grey/navy wall colour is beautiful. The plants are gorgeous. There's a bit too much on the table so I'd take away the tray and the silver centerpiece. I like the idea of the striped stool, it's adds a modern touch
I like the overall look but as it appears modern I feel there is too much stuff. It looks cluttered. If the coffee tables were taken out and the bench put in their place it would look more spacious and airy, but definitely either the coffee tables or bench need to go. Also this is not a family room, huge floor standing mirror and glass shelves full of knick knacks do not add up to a family room!
Glad I’m not the only one who felt this way. I’m always conscientious of the amount of walkway space between items. When she put in the white bench inbetween the dual coffee tables and the wall desk, I was thinking it looked very tight. It would’ve opened up the room a ton to either leave it at 1 coffee table or remove the coffee tables and just have the bench.
I'm not a fan of the pink pillows in this piece. It makes it pop, but not in a good way. I think a brighter purple pillow would make it pop in a better way and match the purple throw blanket on the bench. The pink for me is adding to much to any already balanced blues, purples, and greens.
Veery sick n jus sittin on the couch fooling around an jus realize my passion however I'm not health enuf to be moving around furniture cus I'm bad off but jus now realizing my passion..
i dont like it, its way too much. also i hate those dark colours and the fancy stuff, all that instead of making me confortable make me very very uncomfortable.
The only this that sofa is good for would be sleeping. Did you notice how deep the seat is, like a double bed. Not to mention, if this is a family room, there is no place for a television.
I hate the heavy drum beat. It ruins what could be a pleasant presentation. Raspy voice I can deal with, but could work on less projection for a smoother tone .
When she made the comment about joking that "your kids can't ruining your lighting," LOL... ahh she no children.... The space looks a little clutter. They have a big sectional, the have 3 armchairs, the have a bench and a stool.
+undomiel152003 Sounds like same old "valley girl". I'm hearing this in guys ,now,too....straight and gay. They all sound so pinched and whiney! Depressed, even.
This is a dream room. It's not a real living situation. In real life with families, you talk about how a room will be used and who is using it. Their concept was living/den for a family, but in reality, I know of no family ( I think adults with kids ) could keep it looking orderly. The thing about these lovely sophisticated dreams rooms is if one or two things out of place, and the mood is ruined. Imagine toys and games and a dog's chew toys in the room...now that is reality! Can't you just picture kids jumping up and down on that big sofa?
why do people end statements with question marks? It's from SCHOOL and being asked to GUESS. It's being UNSURE. That's all I could hear in her voice...the question marks.
So posh...:S I don't get cosy family feeling at all. This looks more like a room where kids can absolutely not go. Lots of glass and expensive looking materials. I can see a married lawyer couple living there...
