You not only saved us $50 on a service call, but taught us how to do this for the future. Our timer went haywire and for 2 months it was on during dawn and off during dusk. You are awesome!!
Thanks for the vid. This is much better than the instructions with it as it simplifies things and makes sense the way you walk thru the whole thing. Very informative and sure you have helped LOTS of folks!!!!😎
Very informative video. I own a Landscape Lighting company in Illinois and have provided this link to at least 5 customers in the past year. Prior to that I would have to have a timer in my hand and take at least 20 minutes of my time to talk customers over the phone on resetting it. Not only has this video saved me time but also offers clients a way to save a $75 Service call
Old video yes, but still spot-on. Great step-by-step. Included instructions are impossible, but this video greatly simplifies. Thanks agin for your excellent effort.
Thank you, i have 40+ of these on property and the landscape light company did not want me to learn this because of the service calls they got before i get hired. 😂😂
Thank you for this! Just bought a house with one of these timers and lost all settings when the power went out. The previous owners left no instructions & had not replaced the battery....
So if I have it set up properly as to go on at dusk and the go off at midnight, and it is only say 4 pm (2 hours earlier than dusk) but the system is on (with green light on top of timer) does that mean someone must have manually pressed on and I can just turn it off and it will come back on at dusk?
As long as the readout says “auto” above the time of day the timer will cycle through the programmed on and off times. You can manually press the on/off button any time without effecting the program settings. If you press the “program” button and scroll through all 28 spots and you only see one on time and one off time then the next most likely scenario would be that somebody manually pressed the “on” button.
I've programmed a few hundred of these over the years and although I have had a few problems and faulty timers out of the box a couple times, I've had a very small failure rate. The problem you are having is not common and perhaps you have a faulty timer. If there backup batteries are fully charged you should be able to see the digital readout pretty well to program it without having the timer plugged in. If the readout is faded your batteries are getting low. Make sure the battery compartment is pushed in fully.
Intermatic makes a similar timer called a DT200LT that is essentially made for landscape lighting applications and has a simpler setup interface. It costs about twice as much so I haven’t switched over yet myself but you might want to look into it. I will try to make a video for it in the near future.
