🌟 Debunking Intermittent Fasting Myths! 🌟
Intermittent Fasting (IF) has become a popular way to improve health and manage weight. However, it's also surrounded by several myths that need debunking:
1. ⭐Starvation Mode: Learn why the body doesn't enter "starvation mode" during IF and how it actually works.
2. 🍔Uncontrolled Hunger: Discover how to manage hunger pangs and cravings while fasting effectively.
3. 💪 Burns Muscle: Understand why IF can preserve muscle mass rather than burning it.
4. 🥗 Deprives the Body of Nutrients: Find out how IF can provide essential nutrients and promote better nutrient utilization.
5. 🔄 *Unsustainable Fad Diet:* Explore why IF can be a sustainable and adaptable lifestyle, not just a temporary diet.

I am 30 years old and all my life I have struggled with my weight and after the pandemic and lockdown, I have crossed over from being over weight to obese on the BMI scale. I had just had my second child, and I suffered from joint pain and back pain ALL the time and doctors were telling me that I needed to lose weight, but I failed every time I tried dieting because I was ALWAYS feeling hungry and I blamed my self control and lack of consistency. I stumbled upon your videos on RU-vid, read both your books (The obesity code and The ultimate fasting guide) and now am an avid listener to TFM podcast! I realized that it wasn't me! It wasn't that I lacked self control, I was working against the nature of my body and its hormones. It's only been a month since I started but I have lost 12kgs!!! For the first time in years, I am not hungry! I do TRE and 24 hour fasts so easily now and my next step is to do extended fasts! I thank you from the bottom of my heart, because you have changed my life and saved it from a life time of misery and health problems! I am happy to conclude with the fact that I no longer have joint and back pain! All it took was a month and the inflammation in my body is already way better! EVERYONE THIS IS LIFE CHANGING!

I will be 66 in about a month. I used to be morbidly obese, and struggled with many chronic health problems for decades. No doctor that i ever saw personally ever told me that any of these conditions were reversible. I had to learn that here on RU-vid. I have had no need to see a medical doctor ever since. I began eating just one good meal per day back in June of 2021 - about a year and a half ago, and have kept it up ever since. I kept my carb intake to a minimum, and stopped my sugar intake pretty much completely. This was a fairly aggressive form of intermittent fasting. And within the very first two to three months, about 60 pounds of excess fluids and body fat were gone. Along with that, almost every chronic health condition that plagued me for decades was reversed. These conditions included, a fatty liver, occasional hypertension, edema - excess fluid buildup in the feet and lower legs, chronic cellulitis bouts of caused by that edema, COPD symptoms, lowered testosterone levels, frequent night time urination, weaker and crumbling teeth, and constantly sore feet, most likely due to neuropathy to name a few. Almost all of these conditions cleared up, even the COPD symptoms. And i am still a modest smoker. Imagine that. The only thing i still struggle with is the neuropathy in my feet, and that is not as bad as it used to be, but it seems to be the most stubborn condition to reverse. I have learned to do a few exercises to help increase the blood flow of the lower extremities, and one of these days i may try an occasional extended fast, more than 24 hours as well. My best wishes to everybody else on their own journey to improved health and well being!

I wish him a long life. I was sick, obese and high blood sugar and pre diabetes two years ago. I found his channel . After watching a few videos, I decided to change my diet and successfully changed my diet from junk to healthy food. I eat 2 meals a day and I include almost every in my diet like all grains, fruits, meat, poultry, fish, vegetables and legumes. I don’t buy packaged food. I followed this life style for the past two years and as a result lost 52 pounds, no blood pressure, no blood sugar issues and no health issues at all. Fasting worked the best. I still follow 8/16 fasting and never think about diabetes anymore because I don’t see a single sign of pre diabetes or high blood pressure in my body. He is truly a genius.

I starting fast the end of August 2022. I have lost 52 pounds and I have 48 to go. I haven’t felt this good in over 20 years. I wish I would have known about fasting years ago. I do take a multivitamin everyday. I only drink water and haven’t fasted past 22 hours. Once I reach my goal I will continue to fast for the rest of my life. I had a family member say to me one day my weird way of eating. No it’s not weird. I am giving my body the rest it needs. 2 months into my fasting I found out I had non alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dr. Fung’s common sense examples for explaining why these myths are so stupid literally make me laugh out loud. He’s so great and so right. If only the whole world could hear his relatively simple message, the world would be SO much healthier and happier. It’s really tragic that most people don’t know HOW to eat, and that staying within our recommended weight range is fairly simple if we would just eat the way God intended, instead of the way the food and restaurant industry wants us to eat…which is ALL the time! Their goal is to constantly tempt us to eat, and they are very successful at doing it. They couldn’t care less if we’re healthy, or not! The more we eat, the more money they make!

Actually it goes like this. Someone doesn't exercise, eats like complete garbage for many years both in type of food and over consumption of calories. Destroys their health and gets desperate. Told it was not your fault and just don't eat the carbs and fast. Finds this an effective way for them to reduce their overall calories and loses some weight, but frankly is still puggie most of the time. Thinks it's a miracle then starts trying to tell people who actually took care of themselves, exercised regularly even athletic people that they are killing themselves because of the carbs or not fasting or whatever and tries to now pretend they know the secrets and push their advice on these people. These people don't appreciate that and try to tell them it wasn't the carbs or the fasting, it was you not exercising and eating like complete garbage for a long period of time. People don't want to listen and cycle repeats.

On daily basis we see many issues/complications that stem out of uncontrolled diabetes, hypertension and so on. Treatment costs of these conditions is anything but cheap. Sadly, so many of those complications can be ameliorated or completely taken care off with application of low carb, or keto dietary regimen, some mild to moderate exercise and combination of intermittent fasting and occasional prolonged fasting. Not to mention increase in patients' energy levels, their productivity, and overall wellbeing. Thank you again and please keep up with good work.

There are a lot of doubters but Dr Fung's advise on intermittent fasting along with carb restrictions but it worked for me. I am not on any strict regiment time wise but I stopped eating breakfast and some days I skip dinner. Food has become so devalued in my life. Even when I have cheat meal, I don't enjoy it. I am at one goal weight for the first time since I was 21, and I am 57 now. One a week I do eat breakfast. But the reality is that you can't look at this as diet, as diets don't work. It is about changing how you eat for life.

Even Dr. Fung and his first book said that three meals a day when you’re not fasting it is perfectly respectable. I don’t understand why people make such a big deal about three meals a day being too much because very few people in the United States actually limit themselves to three meals. I limited myself to three meals a day five days a week starting at the beginning of 2010. Sometimes I eat even less on weekends sometimes more. I took off 40 pounds and have maintained it. I’ve added some fasting for other benefits.

I recently stalled with losing fat and ended up fasting for over 48hrs. I don't know how long I truly fasted, but it was less than 60hrs. Anyway, I broke my stall! Now, if I don't fast for at least 36hrs, it seems I stall again. So, now I'm working on Rolling 48s. Besides the occasional dull headache and more energy, my mood has improved! While I do sleep less, 5-7hrs, I have a better quality of sleep. I don't hit the snooze button and go make black coffee. Then, I drink water with Keto Chow Daily Mineral drops til the evening. Next thing I know, it's almost bedtime, so I fast until the following afternoon. If I'm hungry, I'll have some eggs, steak, chicken, ground beef, salmon, sardines, or some other meat. If I realize I'm not truly hungry, I fast til I am🙃 I've lost 70lbs and 12" from my waist so far. A1C is 4.8 and carb cravings are few and much less intense. My anxiety decreased as well. I have the Guide to Intermittent Fasting on Audible and it keeps me focused on listening to my body. I was blown away by how much I learned the first time I listened to it and was a bit sad that this information isn't taught in "public schools", but that's a story for another day.
