In this segment of "Strange Sensations" related to the neck, Ross Hauser, MD discusses vertigo and the continuum of symptoms that include tinnitus and lightheadedness, among others. While sometimes the symptoms can have a straightforward cause and simple fix, other times there is a structural component in the neck which needs to be addressed in order for the patient to have hope of resolving the disabling effects of vertigo.
The device he uses about midway through the video is called a Eustachi.
If you are having difficulty obtaining a diagnosis or a doctor to take a comprehensive look at your case and would like our team to review your case to see if you may be an appropriate case for our neck center, you can reach out to our team about the process to review your case: www.caringmedical.com/conditi...

This chap is so clever and deserves international recognition. In reality people like him would be the last you see when in fact he should be the first. But your GP will refer you to ENT surgeon who will get you an MRI scan of the head.The scan would quite often show normal. That will be the end of it, there is no cure for tinnitus they will tell you as in my case. I have lost the curvature of my cervical spine, which I am convinced is the cause of tinnitus in left ear, and feeling of ear fullness along with the head and face muscle feeling out of alignment and popping. I am going to request a neck X-ray/scan next and push for an investigation pathway like this MD to try and get this problem sorted. Thank you for your educational movies Dr Ross Hauser👍🏽

I went to Dr Hauser twice about 18 years ago. Post car accidents, I had my autoimmune system attacking every thing and I had horrible joint instability. He saved my 'life' in that I was totally non functional, in so much pain everywhere, dreadful brain fog, to name just a few symptoms and had 4 little children. I am sure I would not be walking today or have had any quality of life if I had not been treated by Dr Hauser.

I can't believe that I found this information! I have have so many symptoms of instability in my neck but I had no idea it was the cause of all my discomfort until I saw this. I finally have an idea of what I can do to try to resolve it. Tiniinitus, POTs symptoms, nausea internal spinning and a very niosy neck, I haven't been able to rotate my head to left for years and I have had severe migranes in the past due to my neck posture. Thank you so much this is really helpful.

I was in a car accident nine years ago, which is when my IIH started. All my doctors said it was my weight and kept giving me steroid shots. I had eight in my spine, 11 spinal taps, and no help when it came to my ear. This amazing doctor is spot on on every one of my symptoms. I have pain in my ear and I constantly have ringing and water like feeling in my ear. My C4-C5 is off center. I have helped so many patients and I became a patient. I’m tired of doctors telling me that it’s all to my weight. I’m only a little bit overweight. I had an “aha” moment when watching Ross talk about the causes of IIH. I also suffer from vertigo. I feel better when I lay down. As a professional, it is very difficult to lay down the whole day. I’m going to FL to see this guy!

Wow, another great doctor with outstanding communication and teaching skills on RU-vid! Thank you Dr. Ross Houser! 2. Another cause of "world spinning" is "Blood Thinner" and mis-diagnosed Brain Cancer (mainly brought on from wireless technology radiation. 3. We are not cans of paint (we add thinner to paint), not our blood. 4. Eat foods like Garlic, beets, leafy greens. etc., That naturally scrub arteries clean and creates healthy blood. Dr. Eric Berg and Dr. Gus , also on RU-vid explain scrubbing arteries naturally.

So very many thanks Dr, this all certainly makes sense with the roof of my mouth, it itches terribly. I also have severe degeneration of the cervical bones after falling down the stairs during a seizure and cracking my head on to the wall! Ever since I’ve had this awful itching which I just don’t know how to relieve. At the present during COVID times it’s such a problem trying to see a Dr. However, my neurologist is seeing me soon about the epilepsy so I’ll certainly ask him. Very many thanks indeed for all your invaluable help.

I love all the information you share! After having gone through quite a healing journey myself, I now service a community that has a ton of these types of issues. ALL of your videos are a gold mine for them. What I don't hear mentioned is what initially causes all of this instability, connective tissue and vagus nerve problems. I found it's typically heavy inflammation, disruption of the cellular matrix and lack of various important nutrients that help with structural integrity. Most have had mold exposure or Lyme initiating all of this chaos and end up with the trifecta of MCAS, POTS and EDS. It's a tough road back for them but all that you offer in these videos is so amazing and a great guide. I only wish there were therapists all over that think like you do as so many are in need of this kind of help and therapists like you are very rare!
@ambilaevus7607

What nutrients?
@lovelv1278
@lovelv1278 Год назад
It’s alll connected to the vagus nerve degeneration which I believe he said in those vids is from stress . The vagus nerve controls the amount of inflammation in the body which I had no idea . He speaks of Mold etc as well in his videos all being linked to cervical instability etc etc

My cervical instability isn't continuous, but I can get similar symptoms. The standard barrage of static tests (e.g. CT scan) won't show anything, so for legal protection, they would send people to a psychiatrist or suspect substance addiction. Thankfully, cervical instability is being recognized today.

Extreme spinning feels like mild encephalitis. The way I felt, personally.. Dizziness is level 1. internal spinning is like a 2. (that's when normally any song or recent memory stuck in my head is repeating and it hurts.) Then If your eyes cant track the world, like you can't read a paragraph in a normal order to save your life.. your eyes jerking.. that is a 3. If you can't stand up and your eyes are tracking badly, or you can't think clearly AT ALL.. can't think, that's a 4. PS - I use several similar techniques to make sure my ears, whatever isn't involved. Often, I pinch my nose and push a touch of air out and slightly back in again... to make sure the ear canal is balanced, good sinus flow. a massage, blah blah. in my case the base / lumbar hole (bifida occulta) causes a crooked shoulder, which causes c5/c6 to lock. That causes c1/c2/c3 to lock in rotation. That causes me to go insane and want death! lol. But if I keep it in check, life is ok.

Hi doc. I had sinus surgery 25 yrs ago, which helped tremendously. I also get chiropractic treatments. Question. I have an occiptical bun which makes it almost impossible to sleep on my back without a curve corrector, a bottle, or rolled up towel. If it's not tense, it is full of fluids. I trained it to go as high up my scull as possible and doesn't shift down as much. Any other advice for dealing with this bun?

Is there an alternate solution the prolotherapy injection to strengthen the ligaments? I don’t have health insurance and I’m 95% sure I’ve weakened the ligaments, as you mentioned in the video. I’ve spent excessive amounts of time on a soft foam roller at the base of my skull because it made my neck pain feel better while using it- but now I think it’s weakened the ligaments and created excessive cellular“poop”, as you say. I have all of the symptoms on the list. Please help!😣 Thank you for this video!

Hi Caring Medical. I'm with you Folks... Cervogenic Dizziness and vertigo. Just had another bout of Vertigo (last one was 2018). I do have regular Lightheadedness, Floaty feelings, and some balance issues when moving suddenly. But last week I dug in my yard, which Drained Me. The next morning I bent over and felt that more extreme Floaty feeling. Then I went to my Chiro (I have Lots of Spinal Issues of OA in the Spine, facet Joint syndrome, DDD, stenosis, and Dextroscoliosis), who put me on a table on my back with a Rolling massager. When i went to my car , 10 minutes later, I suffered a 20 second full blown Vertigo attack. Since then, i have been experiencing Dizziness / light sudden vertigo on and off, but especially incurred when sitting and then getting up. I do Have Chronic Sinusitis, Tinnitus, IBS for years. My right ear is most sensitive, more Fullness than the left, But that changes too. Your Info on Cervical Instabilities makes Soooo Much sense. What do you think of a Dr. Wallach's opinion that much of tgis can be caused by OA of the Skull too!! I wish I could get to you for medical treatments. I think I tracked down a Prolotherapist in CT. None in NY where I am.

There are a few other causes which may not have been mentioned since not necessarily main stream. Cholesteatoma, or structural damage from same and multiple surgeries for same, are two more causes; and a third is slow carbon monoxide poisoning, especially if balance issues are involved. Check your water heater connections and furnaces (don't overlook heat the exchanger inside the furnace)!

Interesting. My tinnitus began after my second removal of an anaplastic astrocytoma(had 3) and chemo/radiation therapy which damaged the miniscus in the right tm joint. The vertigo began after whiplash from auto accident & eventually stopped after moving to Hawai'i. Due to the radiation I now have osteoporosis in the cervical vertebrae but what the hey I survived and am thriving. Cancer survivorship is on the rise and more videos need to be done on the long-term side effects of chemo & radiation...

I have a straight neck and didn’t realize what I had done until I got off all pain medication so now I’m unable to work because of Tinnitus, chest tightness, back left shoulder blade pain, horrible neck tightness and circulation problem with joint pain. I’m hoping I can find something because it’s been 5 months and only got worse.

I have spinning.it started years ago (1980's) I had a strange flu. My symptoms were extreme fatigue, seeing large purple floating spots, nausea to almost vomiting and spinning. I could barely walk. Closing my eyes made the spinning worse. I was given a motion sickness medicine, however I was allergic to it. These conditions persisted a full 2 weeks then slowly subsided. I believe that my inner ears were damaged because every now and then I SPIN. If I walk in to tight of a circle ( 5 ft or smaller), I spin.

Wow. Now I know what's going on. I have osteoarthritis in my neck and lower lumbar and hips as well as cervical and lower lumbar spinal stenosis. Had a lower lumbar spinal fusion on L4 L5, L5 S1 in Nov. 2011. It relieved pain in my lower back and leg until June 2019 when I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Early this year the dizziness occurred far apart several times. I had also tried a new pillow that caused a migraine. I saw my doctor who had me see a neurologist. Neither one believed my dizziness was my neck. Neurologist says I'm fine, even though she knows my neck issues and back issues. So, a month after seeing her I woke up with the room spinning and nausea. It went away on it's own, but I'm convinced it's my neck. I opened my eyes with the room spinning on me. MRI shows I have no curve left in my neck. It's wonderful to find a doctor who understands what's going on.

@@sashisterling6510 OH wow. Definitely get that CT Scan. I hope you get a correct diagnosis and they will know what to do. I'm now very careful with my neck. My first dizzy spells were when I stood in my closet and looked up just slightly at my hanging clothes. I'm female 5' 4". I reached up to get something down to get dressed and I felt like I was falling sideways. Then a few months later it was waking up still in bed spinning. Are you getting the CT scan?

@DH-gk8vh
@DH-gk8vh 3 года назад
@@sashisterling6510 I've had CT scans done before. I understand your fearful, but they're very safe. An X-ray can only show hard tissue I think like bone. It can show arthritis. CT Scan is for: "CT scans show a slice, or cross-section, of the body. The image shows your bones, organs, and soft tissues more clearly than standard x-rays. CT scans can show a tumor's shape, size, and location. They can even show the blood vessels that feed the tumor - all without having to cut into the patient." So, x-rays are very limited. Your symptoms are such that they need to see what's going on, and it sounds like a CT Scan would be perfect. You could also ask for an MRI, but I'm thinking the CT scan would be best. O sure hope you can find out what's going on.

I wonder if this is part of why spinning in my desk chair actually makes my dizziness stop and improves my proprioception for a while? My body’s signals about how it’s moving and where it is in space when I’m trying to sit still are all scrambled, but if I spin enough I feel it in my whole body it drowns that out. I don’t know, might just be me, but I’ve found it to be a really helpful if counterintuitive trick for recalibrating myself when I’m feeling super off balance. The relief doesn’t last for long though. And it would work better in a room with more space and a chair secured to the floor so I’m not tensing against the spinning for fear of falling and hurting myself. But it usually relieves this stuff for a few minutes and is one of my go-to’s when all these symptoms are getting bad and disorienting enough that I’m starting to panic. Still, high risk low reward in your standard desk chair on wheels
