International 4300 DT466 No click No crank

When i replaced my starter motor, I connected everything as it should go. Was only getting a click. Had a old school mechanic take a look at it. Ended up being the overcrank heat protection harness. The connector is the same in both starter motors (42MT and 39MT). When going from the 42 to the 39, the compatibility for the 39MT OCP Sensor does not work with my truck.
Had to bridge the 2 wires that connect to the OCP sensor and voala!
Replaced both batteries and new starter. Went from 42T to 39 MT (Gear reduction).
Old starter was dragging, slow crank.
Pulled a few flash codes. Only 2 Active

Mine is doing this now. Checked fuses at battery and cleaned connections, cleaned connections under hood (green at the connections to the large red wire to fuse box) did it a couple days before. Dash lights for water in fuel and abs would pop on and off randomly. Next day wouldn't start. Cleaned battery and checked fuses nothing. Tightened wires at front of starter and fired right up. Used it and end of day water in fuel light flashed on and off twice, next day wouldn't start again. Tightened starter wires again and checked everything 3 times still won't start abs light on and click just like this. Is there a breaker on the thermal overload switch someone mentioned on starter? I'm out of ideas.

I believe your starter is going bad. Have you tried giving it some love taps? You have to get something pretty heavy to get it "unstuck", this happens when solenoid is going bad. bang it a few times and try starting again. I don't believe the water in fuel light has anything to do with that. You need to look for the drain valve on the fuel filter housing and open it to see if water is accumulated there. You probable need to change your fuel filter at this poing.

@mannymx51 hi. I don't believe it has water in fuel. The lights would alternate between that, abs and yellow check engine. Almost like a short. Ended up both times with just abs light staying on abs the relay in dash clicking like in your video. Won't even try to turn over. First time tightening starter bolt did trick. Nothing seems to work now. Like it just isn't getting the juice it needs. 😕

Mine was doing a similar thing. You can check the starter by directly hooking up cables to it. The starter on mine needed to be rebuilt.

Find the starter motor, behind the starter motor there is one connector with two small wires, remove that connector and bypass that wire.

Guys if your dt466 or dt466e won't start, check the fuse box. Most of the time the truck won't start cuz electrical problems.

Your starter relay is closing circuit. Are you getting power to your lead wire at starter. It sounds like the relay is engaging.

I will test that out today. Checked most of the cables yesterday. Removed the 3 computer terminals and 2 of them leaked oil out of there. The 3 other plugs next to computer (IDM?) looked clean. The 100 amp fuse on engine bay seemed to be a little melted on one end. Took it out cleaned all terminals and put it back in. Checked voltage on both studs @ 12.34V. Going to check battery cables for corrosion. I have seen alot of videos saying it could be a probable cause. If ECM were bad, would I be able to get a flash code on dashboard? Thanks bro!

Oil saturated connectors need to be cleaned out. Oil is not the greatest conductor but they do cause electrical faults. Voltage flows to different pins due to oil

@@JoesBusBarn Yes sir, there was oil dripping out of them. As well as 2 other connectors that are right by the oil pan on the driver side (dripping oil). I am guessing it is all forming from some blow-by that is coming off that metal tube right by the starter motor.

Add a small section of 1 inch hose to extend that breather tube to right under the front axle. That should help out a bit

Hello Mason. Yes problem is fixed. Had to bridge the cables at new starter motor for it to work. No ECM problem thank God

@@jacobhayden9525 this problem all started when I replaced the starter motor. I upgraded to the new style (smaller). When I did this, the overheat protection sensor on the starter motor is not compatible with the truck. So Instead of plugging the harness that comes from the ECM to that sensor, I bridged both of those wires ( bypassing the sensor on the starter motor) and she cranked!!

El relé de start o arranque esta en la parte izquierda del camión sobre el tapabarro y en ese caso si el sensor del pedal de embrague esta dañado no dará cranck o arranque

I'm tossing all types of money at the problem but getting no where.... I turn the key on the truck go threw it's checks but when I go to start....Nothing .. Blinking light in the pannal blinking lights in the shift..but no response.... Rewired battery cables.. Check the 100 volt fuses connection good there voltage is good Check the cabin computer . Jump start the starter the truck starts..next checking the TCU..... I'm tired already.....anyone got any idea ?

@@mannymx51 Can you explain how you fixed this? I am having the exact same issue. It ran fine after putting in a new set of batteries. It started with the no crank no start. All of the relays click and screen lights up with neutral light. I checked the relay and if I ground the 85 pin it still will not crank. Any tips are appreciated
