The International 574 started giving us trouble with the Hydraulic system. We never use the hydraulic remotes. No steering no pto and no Hydraulics. I think it was a simple fix. Gerraldfarms
Gerrald Farms thanks! Well actually I haven’t got the 444 yet I’m getting it tomorrow as it’s my birthday went and saw it today and started her up as she’s been sitting for 12 months
Thanks for watching. Sometimes they are aggravating. Several old timers I know won’t change the seal ever time they change the filter. Because of having trouble with the O-ring. Have a good one
Good day Yea that filter is a buggar to put in. 1 comment about grease might help. We have alot of horse & buggy around us, got to fix something brought home , didn't use for a while oil all leak out of gasket. Thanks good video
Where do you add the hydraulic oil? I just got my 574 and I'm low on fluids. I've ordered the manual for it. Is it in the rear above the pto? Also any recommendations on hydraulic oil?
1/17/21 No hydraulics after draining fluid and replacing filter. "AIR LOCK" I assume. Had retired Case I H mechanic suggest running the tractor in neutral and cranking the steering wheel left and right repeatedly. Did this for a minute or two and got the hydraulics back.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’ve had couple leak out the filter housing. If it leaks slow when off next time you start up it can keep put the air out the filter housing into the system.Keep us posted on on how it does. Have a good week
I was having some of the same problems, so I did what you had done. Changed the hydraulic fluid and filter. Still have a steering problem. I have a 1394. Does the 574 have a filter in the steering reservoir? Mine still didn't steer good. That's what I am going to change next.
Do you have a video of a Hydraulic fluid change. I have an IH 2400a but I belive it is same setup except I have a backhoe on it. O need to know where to add fluid street I change it.
Thanks for watching and commenting. On my 574-464 you add Hyd oil behind the seat. Between the lift arms. A big plug you remove to add oil. I’m sure we have a video on it. We have over 600 videos. We do a Sunday night live hangout every Sunday night. 8:30 pm est. drop in if you get a min.
Now that was a good video and repair sir. Got to keep that hydraulic system serviced. Odd how a seal caused that issue. Was it just an O-ring for the canister? That cartridge and canister very similar to the JD 3020 that I have. 👍
@@GerraldFarmsdoes all the hydraulic oil not spill out when u take off that housing, or does it not come out without the engine running and the hydraulic pump going thanks.
Great that, I have an old 784 that I only use once a year in Ireland for bringing home the turf or the peat as yee might call it, I've never changed hydraulic oil just topped up and so far no problems, but least I know now where the filter is and how to replace if necessary thanks.
Thanks for watching and commenting. There’s a dip stick right behind your left foot. When your setting on the tractor. Everything on the 574 hydraulics uses the same fluid. Have a good one
@Jim when you fill it behind the seat, then check it with the dipstick behind the left floor board. Thanks for watching and commenting. Merry Christmas
I have a 784 with the same symptoms. Hard to imagine that this is all it could be! I just got it and Im not even sure how to check the fluid as with the tractor off there is nothing on the stick. Someone told me I have to have it running. Comment?
Thanks for watching and commenting. It should be on the stick with the tractor off. If the seal leaks the oil out the housing every time you start it up as oil enters the housing it introduces air in the system. One way to see if the filter o ring is leaking is to let it set a couple days then loosen the filter housing. You should have a quart of hyd oil. If not the seal is letting it leak out.
Good video and good information to have, wish my problem could be that easy. I have a case 595 that the 3 point will go up and down all day until I hook something up to it or just stand on the lower arms and then it will go up but not go back down. I can step off the lower arms and it goes down. Anybody got any idea what would cause that?
I'm going through something similar right now. Changed the filter in my 574 and now no hydraulics work at all. Not even after a few minutes. I've had that housing off 20 times I bet to try and get it to seal up. You think that since I'm not getting any hydraulic power at all that it could be something else? I've never had this much trouble with a hyd filter change.
Thanks for watching. I’ve got a few questions. Before you changed the filter was the Hyd working good? If not what was it doing? After you run it and let it sit does any oil drip from the filter housing? If any drips when you start it up it introduces that air back into the system. Let it sit for awhile with something clean under it so you can tell if it drips. If no drips after several hours try running it a little longer keep turning the wheel and working the lift up and down to move the air in the system. Keep us posted on what you find. Have a good one
@@GerraldFarms, everything was working good before the change. I had used it the week before to get the garden plowed up and it handled the 3 bottom like a boss. There's no oil that drips out of the housing when I let it sit. I'm worked the wheel and lift over and over again trying to get it to pick up but it just doesn't have any pressure. I have flow through the system because I can put remote ends on the remote lines and have flow out of them, just no pressure. I'm slightly concerned that I had a weak pump and it finally went out trying to prime back after the filter change but like I said...it handled that 3 bottom plow just fine the week prior.
I wouldn’t take the filter off any more for now. Every time you do you introduce more air. How’s the Hyd oil level? Send me a email Gerraldfarms @gmail.com
@@GerraldFarms ok. I have an -83 IH 585 and when I released the bolt to the hydraulic filter it felt like there was A LOT of oil coming out of there. I do not have any extra oil at home so I decided to put it back in again. But maybe it's normal to loose some oil when changing the hydraulic filter?
@@Dibulok i normally catch it to put back in if I don’t have more on hand. Just be careful with the o ring , it’s easy to not get it sealed and loose a lot of oil
Thanks for watching and commenting. They have a Hyd cooler in front of the radiator . I use the other 574 to pull a 7ft disc mower all summer and a round Baler and have never had any issues with the hyd over heating.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I would have to disagree. That pump is still going strong. The seal that goes around the housing for the filter was leaking. When it set over night or days it would leak out the bowl. When you start it that air was introduced to the system. New o ring problem solved. That was a couple yrs ago and couple hounded hrs. I would not of believed it if I didn’t see it. Have a good one
