Excellent job sir. Your video was very detailed it’s a wonder you got footage in some of those tight spots. But great work and knowledge and skill. I have drove many DT466 trucks but never worked on them myself. I enjoyed your video & learned some things as well. Thanks for all the mechanical teaching and video production. And God Bless you also✅
You are a very patient teacher. You explain everything how it works and why it's needed. Your work area is kept very neat. Even your rags are not even dirty they're faded. And putting them over holes so they junk doesn't fall in there
Excellent video you did a great job explaining everything. I have worked on pln motors and 12 valves but new to the heui systems on these trucks. Your video really helped and has great detail. Thanks a bunch and keep up the great work. J-Rod
So is there a huge difference in injector replacement for a 2007 dt466 than a 2002 s4700. just got my injectors in the mail 5500 in my current situation
Pops! thanks for the video. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year... If I ever have issues with my truck, best believe; the prodigal son is coming home . Peace ✌️.
Great video. Really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and helping us tackle this at home. Really wondered if there is a reliable way to check which injector is bad other than using the expensive software? I have tried to use a temperature reading on the exhaust manifold with mixed results. Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your video.
I thank you very much for your comment. I wish that these engines was like in the late 90's when you could just break a fuel line loose to find the problem. I'm afraid that a scanner or laptop is the only way to go now days.
Hi sir, Awesome video. I have a 2001 t444e with a stripped ECM bolt that holds the injector harness. I need to repair the injector/glow plug pigtail that is all frayed. Is there a way to remove that bolt. I removed the ECM but no way to access the bolt. please help, thanks
Daile, what you do is good work, very professional, teacher, one question, I have had a fault with my truck for a month and 8 mechanics have gone to check and they do not discover where the fault is, teacher my 2003 international navistar dt466 truck. 7.6 , goes into a glitch on gears 6,7,8 , advances and suddenly loses power and feels like a bubbling of air on the fault when it falls into the fault ,
That could be the IPR Sensor. Have a mechanic to check it out. Look at my Video on the Hi-Pressure Oil Pump. It shows how to replace the IPR Sensor. Please have it checked first. The part is around $350.
Thanks for the video! It helped me get started with replacing my #6 injector; even tho my engine compartment was a little different. Question. Now I get a crank but no start. Did you have to use computer to calibrate the injector or anything like that? Or it just started right up once oil rail got full.
Good question, It will not start up until the Rail is full. You may have to turn it over 4-5 times. Once it starts. The Truck will blow out alot of smoke. Just let it run and it will shortly clear out. I hope that helps.
Does this apply to the 1998 dt466e engine? I always see videos like this that don't mention what year. Are they all the same with the only difference being mechanical vs electric? Thanks
I have a 97 dt466e blew #2 injector ran good b4 that happen ! So i decided to replace all 6injectors? Got the in cranked it up ran fine for 4min the started missing like a misfire ? Pull the out took them back they check them and said that nothings wrong with them , reinstall them , crank truck smooth at first then started to miss..replaced ipr sensor and the icp sensor ? Run the same!!! New oil and filter and fuel filter!!What could Be the??? problem???
@AddrianSykes I can surely understand your frustration . You did the right thing by replacing all the Injectors. Normally when I replace Injectors. I also replace the Injectors wire harness.
I watched this video and it gave me the confidence to take mine apart...How the crap do I get the valve cover out of the truck?? Got everything taken apart, but not sure which direction to go with it. Awesome video BTW
The vehicle showed no light. By it being more difficult to start. I connected a Genisys Diagnostic and discovered the bad injector. My Dt466 experience goes back as far as 1983.
@@terrellscaife2411 If I remember correctly. When I changed the Injectors. I would change the rail with the harness. Because I found that harness can be bad and it would make the injector seem bad. On another note. If you want to see if you have a Bad Injector. Crank the vehicle. And break a line loose on each Injector one at a time. If a Injector changes the sound of the engine. It is bad and need replacing.
Great video. This will help me replace all 6 injectors on mine. One question: What is that bolt that you tightened with impact wrench at 21:34 mark, that sits right of the IPR? I didn't see you removing it at the beginning of the video. Is that to drain the diesel so it does not get into the injector cup?
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 actually that's just the bolt for the ECM bracket. How do we drain the fuel? Your video just shows how to drain oil from the oil rail.
@acaglumac you really don't have to drain any fuel.the oil and fuel that was drained is enough. Either way when you start the engine. It is going to smoke and burnout all the excess oil and fuel doing the repair.
Hey you wouldn't happen to have a video for the T444E would you? This injector looks pretty close to this. ... Maybe this is enough. Thanks for the video... subbed.
I did notice that my oil pressure is not moving from 0. It hits but does not start. It did not have this problem before I changed the injectors. What could this be?
I have a 98 International 7.6, I took off the fuel tank and washed it with water well. I connected the fuel hoses by mistake and gave it air pressure, then I corrected the error. I tried to start the truck. It never started. Can you explain to me the reason?
Keep in mind, that you cannot have any air in the lines. You may have lose fuel from your Filter Housing when you disconnected from the Fuel Tank. Make sure that you bleed all the air out at the Fuel Filter Housing.
Thank you for the reply well i have a problem here, first my truck starter not turning on when hot,,and now it dies after driving a while like 15 minutes,,hope you can give any tip on how to work on it,,thank you
When replaced the ICP sensor i accidentally remove the wire harness that is connected to the valve cover close to the ICP,,and now wont connect back,,any tips
@@antonilvillalobos3672 are you talking about the wiring harness going to the ECM? Maybe I misunderstood. If so, you can go to your local Part Store and try to match up the connector.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 it is a 2007 dt466 egr engine I thought it would be different because I also have a cummins and I didn’t do it because of that
@@danielapastor8963 I'm afraid that could be a number of things. If you have to use Starting Fluid or it has a skip and low on power going uphill. Then I would say a bad Injector.
@@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 injectors are good verified today has great compression all seals are good and replaced hidden seal behind fuel filter assembly changed as well today
If you are talking about after you replaced an injector. The Engine will smoke a little at first. Be it should clear up. I have seen and heard of that happening when all six are replaced and the Owner waited to later to change them. That's a chance you or the Dealer will take. If a bad Injector runs for a long time. It can wash out that Cylinder. You may not know it until you put in a new injector. If that happens. You will have to do a inframe rebuild to replace that Piston.
@@brad758 was it smoking before you put Injectors in? If you do not drain the Oil Rail before you pull out an injector. Engine will run into the cylinder. That oil will have to burn out. It shouldn't take too long to clear up.
