So a person who commits heinous crimes in a country that has the death penalty and that has sentenced this person to death for their crimes, who, correctly, fears for their life, could apply for and be granted subsidiary protection here?!

How does the person in your scenario escape from police custody?
@Monaleenian
@Monaleenian 6 месяцев назад
@@killbotone6210 I'm not any particular expert on escaping police custody but people can escape police custody. The exact method that is employed does not seem, to me, to be relevant.
@Monaleenian

@@killbotone6210 Also, some jurisdictions can try and sentence a person without that person ever being in police custody. For example, Ian Bailey was tried and sentenced by a French court without ever visiting France or being in the custody of French police.

@Monaleenian Yeah it's just that, well, in a scenario where some is sentenced to death, the death usually takes place within 24 hour or less.(I assume you're not talking about people coming from the USA.) I'm not sure your scenario is achieved without the suspension of logic. Let's look at the scenario. The person is sentenced to death. They will be put to death in a matter of hours. They are in a prison cell The cell is being gaurded by armed officers who will have no hesitation dispatching a prisoner who is about to be executed anyway should they as much as blink incorrectly. Not only will they need to overcome all of this with their life intact, they will then need to remain on the lam to avoid a nationwide man hunt for a number of months while they apply and organize a refugee application and means by which to travel. If all these things conspire in that person's favour And the Vetting application somehow overlooks he was a prisoner sentenced to death, And the police in his own country don't ask why the man they are looking for needs a stamped copy of his police records, then YES. I think we could be in danger of your scenario coming true.

12% of all Irish accommodation is occupied by IPA applicants .By the definition that you read out it sounds like most of the world is entitled to claim asylum. The law is very lofty ,but not practical , it is wide open to abuse.The question are .What is it going to cost? What are the alternatives ? What is the hard evidence.If the authorities in Ireland were acting in good faith there would be active deportations happening.

@@killbotone6210 as someone on the hunt for housing all around,the majority of these so called houses are only fit for knocking. Cheaper to rebuild. There are approx only 30,000 liveable houses on the market.

@@davidgreally4391 IPA presons are not looking for the same area of housing stock as first time buyers, families upgrading a home etc etc. . . .and the housing argument is absolutely null and void when degenerates go around burning down hotels and hostels and other such communal accommodations being ear marked for IPA's. This only makes it more likely, not less, that regular housing stock will be needed to house IPA's. . . . ..but the absolute clowns behind these attacks don't have the capacity for such rational thought.

@@killbotone6210 nope. Every country has its limits for what it can cope with. Would a captain of a ship let on significantly more than the capacity? A pub or restaurant let in more than capacity. It's basic math.

Unlike fomer colonial powers we should have no guilt complex in this regard. The Irish are the indigenous population and should be protected and should not become a minority by way of mass uncontrolled immigration.

There is hundreds of millions of people who are being persecuted across the world. Ireland can hardly accept all these non eu migrants. The Ukrainians are enough, and at least with them, they work
