• Kenyan Protests Impact: The ongoing protests in Kenya have severely affected traders in the border district of Busia. Sales have declined due to the reduced number of customers and almost no trucks entering from Kenya since yesterday.
• Party of the Impeached: Former South African judge John Hlophe, impeached for misconduct, has been sworn in as an MP for ex-President Jacob Zuma’s party. Hlophe will lead the MK party in parliament, which has become the official opposition.
