It's strange, my school music teachers literally taught me nothing, compared to what I've taught myself using the internet. Especially these videos. It's a good job that my clarinet teacher taught me basic music and breathing. I don't remember hearing the term "circle of 5ths" 20 years ago though.

@@1Flyingfist I remember a teacher showing me a little cardboard wheel diagram of the circle of 5ths that you could spin the middle around showing the corresponding 5th notes and said this is all you'll ever need to know for writhing chord progressions, then he handed it to me and didn't give any further instruction as if it was all I would need. I played around with it a few times until I realised it was actually a killer frisby and after that I only used it to throw around the house. It really was amazing to throw I wish I still had it.

Hi, I started playing guitar when I was 17 (1965) but only really, really started to LEARN guitar less than two years ago aged 71; yes that's right 71. This is a super clear explanation of intervals and Gracie's teaching style is so good leaving no confusion at all for me. I've watched other tutorials too eg on the Circle of 4ths/5ths and am truly delighted with the difference it's making for me; thank you Gracie. I'm going on to the other 3 videos on intervals next. You are a fantastic communicator. Teaching complex things in a complex way = Insecurity. The teacher doesn’t understand it well, and is parroting what others said. Or they need to ‘impress’ people to have their ego stroked. You teach complex things simply because you know it so well, and are confident in your skills. What a pleasure to learn from you, Gracie!

My whole world of music just opened up! I actually have my grade 8 Royal Conservatory, but have become so "rusty" now I can't even play what I've written!!! I used to walk to my music teacher's house as a child and I would do my rudiments on the way sitting at the side of the road - because I hated it that much and never understood it. Now, I'm searching for the link to the printable worksheets because I wanna to the work of this theory. You're an incredible teacher Gracie. Thank you so much for making it easy to learn and apply right away.

I unfortunately had an initial guitar teacher when I was 13 years old who could not teach me how music was constructed and only taught dumb ass songs. It took me years before I could teach myself how to read music and how a chord was constructed. Finally I can play on the fly and understand what I'm doing. Intervals are just a pit stop on the way to teaching yourself. Thanks for the great instruction.

As a professional teacher (winner of teacher of the year, and semifinalist for state teacher of the year in North Carolina.) Not to sing my praises, but to sing hers. See below. I feel like I’m in a good position to judge teaching videos. This young woman is, without a doubt, one of the finest teachers I have ever encountered. Her explanations are simple and lucid, her examples continually reinforce the teaching point she’s trying to make. She has an excellent speaking voice and it’s easy to understand. I have played classical guitar since my early 20s I am 68 and I never consider myself a real musician because I’ve never been able to speak the language or understand the language that you are explaining it’s quite simple, but the terminology always tripped me up And I just thought it would be impossible for me. Like your explanation of a circle of fifths brilliant just brilliant, thank you I am really glad that I’m not going to die, being ignorant of such necessary terms and concepts! I have played on the same stage with Tommy Emmanuel and now I’m focused on Classical and Latin music on nylon strings. I had done a lot of research to find out what intervals were and how to understand them but nothing was as clear as this. Thank you ❤

Creative and imaginative teacher. If you can't explain it simply, you don't know it well enough. This GT is obviously gifted.
