I follow two other training companies online both very good but Gracie has something unique going on. It is just her personality and it is obvious she is incredibly intelligent with her deep understanding of music. But unlike many Gracie can pass us that knowledge to lesser gifted mortals like myself in a way I can actually understand it. Good for you Gracie, what a wonderful woman you are and I am sure a great new mum as well. Be well my friend and thankyou.

I’ve been playing music since I was 10 and graduated college with a music degree. I was a music education major but switched and have a music minor. Music theory II was the hardest class I took in college. I remember counting the semitones and I never quite understood it. I played music professionally for a few years before joining the navy and have been playing guitar regularly. I’m now 35 and my daughter is learning guitar and asked me to teach her theory. I’ve learned more and understand theory now more than thousands of dollars of higher education and decades of playing and studying music having watched your videos just over this weekend. My 13 year old daughter now understands the circle of 5ths and can tell me all the accidentals in every key and is starting to understand intervals and chord voicings. She knows more theory than I did after 4 years of university level classes lol. You’re an excellent teacher thank you.

Hi Gracie, thanks for these very easyly understandable lessons ( need to take notes to remember). Being French, I remember in young time learning maths, counting poles in a fence and intervals between poles : 5 poles have 4 intervals, interval being the distance between 2 poles, word interval coming from Latin language Intervallum meaning 1 space betwen 2 things. In US culture , 5 poles makes 5 intervals. Same for elevator, ground floor is level 0 in Europe, and level 1 in the US. At the end of the day we all love music , haha.

I was playing my guitar last night and played the best I have ever played. The next day I stumble across the best lessons for the foundations of music theory, the language of musical organization. Is it coincidental that today I find the keys to comprehensive knowledge on understanding intervals and how they get their names, what they mean and how they relate to other notes? Thank you so much.
