Intervals Polyphia Plini Dance Gavin Dance Night Verses Tesseract Peryphery All those bands that get this djent groovy vibe with metal hold a special place in my heart. So many well tought songs and overall song writting.
Wayne Ingram im 47, learned pentatonic minor 25 years ago, along with power chords, have improved very little over that time. i had a vinnie moore instructional dvd , he was awesome.
Honestly wasn't too into this album when it first came out cause I thought it was too slow. But now I'm coming back to it with a different perspective and I am so happy to be able to digest an entire album like this. So good.

Didn't know this canadian band and I love their melodic songs and virtuosity: less boring than DT and more interesting in the research of awesome chords! Keep it up guys!!!
@@belleybutton4335 Sadly? I'm pretty sure Aaron wrote everything on every album except the one everyone seemed to hate anyways. And they all still make music, they just do it separately now. (I should add that I actually loved that album, but I had to make the point)
This is really good! I've heard of intervals but not actually listened to them for real yet. I was just listening to Plini and it rolled into this and I had no clue. Thought I was still listening to Plini but it sounded different enough for me to look and surprise surprise. Glad I discovered them! Thank you RU-vid.
Having now sampled the other albums, I feel that this, 'The Way Forward' is so far the best of their works. Nice listening. Wish some of the pieces had been structured a bit longer to allow them more musical exploration. Thanks for uploading good music.
It a been a long time since I've heard Intervals but I was watching a video by WhatCulture Gaming titled "10 useless video game abilities you wasted skill points on" and the guy in the video was wearing a shirt for this album so I figured I'd check it out and I'm glad I got to hear the new grooves!
When I first listened to this album I was sleeping on By Far and Away, but the interlude at 15:41 is just so good. That whole song is just so good. This whole album is so good!
Hmmm .... at age sixty six years and, having started with Deep Purple's 'Into the fire' and, floated thru Santana, Emerson Lake n Palmer and Dream Theatre stuff, THIS IS MOST interesting, to say the bloody least ... wow ....
a bit late to reply, but yeah, he's the keyboardist in the full album, he also wrote the 4th song (by far and away)... this is how I actually heard of owane lol.
I'd say it sounds a little more like Plini if it makes you feel better. Polyphia has a little less musical composition IMO, lots of fast guitar playing, hard plucking, same tones, and every instrument fighting for the downbeat.
Oh you guys. Polyphia is so much more creative. They've created a new style of music. Intervals is great, but not genre-busting, groundbreaking music. Polyphia's latest album doesn't even make sense. It's baffling. And SOO much harder to play than this stuff.
i hate bands that incorporate odd time signatures that sound off or incomplete or just lack soul. this band is sounding good but i hope that it stays that way. edit 1. So far so good. I just heard of this group and I love what I'm hearing. Already on track 3. edit 2: this band is a keeper! ty so much for making this masterpiece. maybe artists like modern day babylon and plini should consider what they do to tracks because they make their progressive time signatures seem forced rather than pouring their soul into it.
@@electricangel117no i understand they are great, but to me the moment it feels off it just disconnects me. same goes for fit for an autopsy. i respect them all, but i wish that they could do something different to keep the flow.
