🇺🇸 ~ Way too many on the right wing political side believe government and everybody else is after them. So I am glad he is speaking out. When people have certain ideologies it’s easier to believe everybody’s after them then to understand maybe they are the ones who are not in the right place.b

and he as just as willing to believe in all this abuse in the name of religion. He was told to take off and he did. Crazy.

Well he was brainwashed before the abuse kicked in and he was told to stay away if he wanted his marriage to work. In his mind he was doing everything by the rules set by Jodi. I commend him for getting out of the cult he was basically in. He is on the right track to healing his family.

@@aikoerin6353 Seems to me he isn’t taking responsibility for his own historical actions ( when in the house and after) and involvement which makes his case difficult for me to get behind. It seems he’s displacing almost all the blame on Jodi, DOPL and the police. In Utah, “the family” has so much more rights ( schooling, pro religion etc) than many Blue States, it seems he perceives himself as 100 victim.

@@jokich6379 If he learned something? Great! So far? No. He actually is bringing attention to why all guilty parties should be prosecuted. Hiding behind Shari's skirts? Will he ever grow-up emotionally? He forever uses women as a shield. Learn how to be a good man. At least the man part, please. If he cannot get that part right his attempt at being a father will forever fail. The only reason the youngest are still alive is because of RF,Shari and a couple of complete strangers. He played no part in saving them at all from further abuse. For his part? It was Shari, he directly abused the most. Should she forgive him? I don't know? His using her name because his is mud in court? As if he appears with her seal of approval? Makes me very uncomfortable. Without publicly acknowledging how he tormented his daughter whose intentions were always good? Yes, I am very uncomfortable with his failure to admit all of the truth. Not just the parts that make him appear....like Shari because there are none. In time? There is a sliver of hope. Still waiting for it. For his sake. The children, hopefully, have found good people to help them discover what real love is.

@@MyWadester I honestly don’t trust the older kid’s opinions either. They’re dealing with MAJOR trauma recovery and they’re still brainwashed. You don’t just get over brainwashing. It’s a process and even with therapy, it isn’t overnight.

I agree, lets hope he has realized his mistakes and will do some personal reflection & change his approach moving forward. Lets face it no one is perfect and we all make mistakes, some are just totally explosive as in this case. Luckily they were not killed, well not literally.

I wonder if he ever resented the boy for getting Ruby busted. I am concerned for the kids if they think that his behavior is in any way excusable. Abuse victims are so susceptible to manipulation and gaslighting. All these kids need to recover and reprogram in so many ways.

@@debradonohue6598 when they refused to take food for the youngest E, they said they wouldn’t give the youngest two Christmas presents, but the eldest 4 got them, made the children pay for things they’d left around including homework

That is not true. There is no proof he wilfully left his children in a harmful situation. He was being manipulated, he trusted his wife. Those who have never experienced this level of manipulation, can have any idea of what they might do in similar situation.

However, he admitted CPS attempted to contact him multiple times which he stated he IGNORED apparently upon Jodi Hildebrandt’s recommendations. MOST (99% of ALL parents) would have responded to CPS AND CONTACTED HIS CHILDREN in PERSON IMMEDIATELY, NOT CONTINUE TO STAY AWAY FOR A YEAR!

He has repeatedly acknowledged having made errors and has expressed his regret publicly several times.

@@kevinhornbuckle And yet he's refusing to point out the religious involvement in all of this, from the way he and his wife treated those kids to the way the religion controls and inflicts this fraudulent "therapy" on the members of its congregation to keep them in line. When you look at the connections between the college he worked for, the boot camp he sent his son to, Hildebrandt, and the way all of this was so terribly handled from the start, it's very apparent that this "faith" has a lot of culpability here that no one is willing to discuss. If you replaced their faith with Islam all of this would be considered sinister infiltration of a society to inflict Sharia law, but these people are being given a free pass because they're white and Christian-adjacent.

Don't forget removing the bathroom door. When other children were in the home as well. Embarrassing him for liking a girl.

He has acknowledged having made mistakes. He "abandoned" his kids under threat from an unethical licensed professional counselor who lied to him that the separation was temporary.

Is it possible that he was actually also a DV victim tho???

Maybe hes trying to make up for his mistakes? Also he was ordered out of the house.

@BethRitterGuth The family attempted to make them see what they were practicing was wrong. Both he and Ruby cut the family off. I don't understand how these parents didn't put the well-being of their children first. I believe Kevin is suffering from a lack of back-bone.
