Best Keneally interview ever. The interviewer does the right thing: he gets out of the way and lets Mike talk.

A real cool dude and a great musician. Saw Mike with Zappa a couple of times at Wembley, once in Birmingham and also at the Rotterdam Ahoy back in 1988 (Jeezus, that's almost 30 years ago!) with my trusty Sony Pro Walkman in tow.

+terrypussypower wish I could have seen Mike and Frank play together! That's very cool

Make Weird Music Yeah, those gigs were great, I saw four of them on that tour, including the Wembley one where Dweezil came on and played a solo!

I saw him with Zappa, too, during the 1988 tour at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. And I have his first solo album, "hat". Brilliant wacky weird music.

wooow guys, I`m really a fan of your questioning and how you let the artists say their thing. I felt really inspired after watching Vai and Keneally. Thankyou !

Great interview! I had the chance to see Mike at the Baked Potato double set a couple years ago. He took the time to talk with me at length between the shows and was an absolute gentleman. Would like to hear from Eric Johnson if you can get him. Keep up the great work Anthony - Subscribed!

Mike is so great! I've listened to Eric Johnson for years and have seen him live several times. What talent! Would you consider him "weird," though? Nothing against him in any way, but I just wouldn't have put him on the list of people of interest for the site.

After seeing this interview a while back, I was determined to get Keneally's music to click for me (it hadn't before). I'm happy to report that it worked out, I get it now and am a big fan! Thank you for this :)

First Vai, now Keneally... I'm rediscovering my attention span! If a video racked up over 5 mins, I'd pass... These interviews just flow with such ease of interest, I lose all sense of clock watching - thanks for a great channel - and please try to get hold of Guthrie? 😉
@MakeWeirdMusic
@MakeWeirdMusic 9 лет назад
Getting a hold of Guthrie is probably the easy part! Scheduling an interview in the same room is the hard (and expensive) part. We have several mutual connections, so we will see how it pans out. I have plans to interview a few non-guitar-playing weird musicians as well. Feel free to contribute and help make it a reality! www.makeweirdmusic.com/donate
