I think this was a good interview. Thank you for setting this up, to your reseller friend for answering questions, and to your translator for doing a good job. The reseller didnt have to do the interview and share any of this information. I hope you do more interviews in the future. Btw... Translator's name is Marina (Marine Ah) not Marna. 😅😊

Thanks for the vid, I recently saw instagrams ads from a japanese seller and talked to them for a bit, then found the FB group with 100's of similar sellers and got sketched out. Video was crazily on point with exact what I have encountered, thanks for QnA'ing all of these questions, def provides a lot of insight to how this all works!

Great video man, this was such an interesting watch. There was so much I had no idea about with the Japanses card market. This was such a good watch man, what a fantastic video. If you another Japanses interview or anything like this let me know if you need any help with editing or anything. I would love to work on a video like this. wow, thank you for this Dk, this is such a great video. also imagine the jump of the price vs msrp of japanese product/ cards is crazy. I think the best way to buy japanese cards is just go have a vacation in japan and buy some pokemon product yourself there, tbh I am considering that. since ive been wanting to visit there soon. 🥰♥️😅 ggs to you my friend and to your Friend Marina for helping you out. appreciate her. 🔥

@@DKCards yea for sure! I have seen some card shops have packs for elementary and high school students but it doesn't seem like they sell out much of those. Parents typically buy only 1-2 packs for their kids unlike us adult degens LOL

I was fortunate enough to to get a box of dream league for 80$ from plaza Japan, those boxes are around 400$ now. All thanks to wanting that red and pikachu card, ended up pulling it and the solgaleo and lunala full art with Lily

As a Japanese person myself, I can confirm that the blame should be placed on the kids. They have to understand that these cards are made for adults. That store totally got it wrong, they should have banned kids from purchasing the cards.

Sounds like distro's are the source of the problem... They're basically denying their own local market a chance to buy at a reasonable price. I'll never understand why TPC doesn't have a better grip on their supply chain, it's rapidly destroying the integrity of their brand imo.

And what is amazing is to see that when something illegal happen in the English market, all RU-vidrs complain, make video about it … but when it’s in Japan nobody cares! Reselling for a profit, like what Shun is doing, is actually illegal in Japan as Pokemon Japan does prohibit it (it’s even clearly written on all their products: FOR SALE IN JAPAN ONLY). So is it ok when it’s illegal because it’s in Japan? It’s because of resellers like Shun, who buy from distributors, that we have nothing left on the shelves even on release day! Can we just have access to the card? Since V-Star Universe there is nothing on the shelves, even at Pokemon Center! And guess what? Many, many Japanese are saying it’s all because of foreigners and on release day of Clay Burst, sooo many racist comments were made on Twitter because of this! Stop promoting those things! Please! Hopefully Pokemon Company in Japan will do something against those resellers!

I will try to address this little by little if possible. I think you are referencing the stolen Pokémon cards from fusion strike? Yes that was a pretty big controversy and absolutely should have been given attention and the communities attention. In regards to the Japanese market, is it illegal to resell products in general? Like written law etc? Or is the "for sale in japan only" something thats just written on boxes? Bc there are video games, CD's that always say "for sale in USA" only etc but its always resold on separate markets. Considering the popularity of pokemon cards in Japan and all across the world, I feel like this is more of an issue that Pokemon needs to address with separate distributors. Pokémon is always going to be popular but if there isn't enough stock, or distributors are getting rid of them and taking advantage of the secondary market, Pokémon company japan should be the ones directly doing something about this no? Bc while there are distribution issues in the U.S. etc occassionally, in the U.S. its fairly easy to get product. If anything, it seems the distribution network is slighly messed up in Japan then.

If you are referencing my friend who translated, she didn't need to do this but was kind enough to help me for the video! Would appreciate some understanding on that part. In terms of the editing, thats on me. The video was quite long and draggy at points. Needed to shorten bc it was getting quite dull. First time I interviewed someone and I should have requested responses to be shorter when question's were asked initially, which is why the cuts were there as well.
