Their drummer said that Carlos never liked playing the bass and it wasn't his choice of instrument. But he's bloody damn good at playing it.

@UrsineBenn I really dont see all the comparisons to Joy Division outside of Paul Banks' voice but i do see the cure comparisons.... Joy Division had more of an edgy punk element to their music to me.... Where Interpol is more melodically driven and more dance friendly than JD, a characteristic they share with the Cure...

@4455matthew I think that he's actually aware of what he's doing, so it's not coming as pretentious. At least to me.

Carlos has here a bit of Brandon Flowers look, a real gentleman. I guess I would be crying all the gig along if there would be a Carnegie Hall gig with Interpol and Killers mixed playing each other's best songs: Carlos, Paul, Ronnie on the drums and Brandon singing with Paul and adding some spice of his keyboard Can you picture this?

@alec9tap And i do consider them original just heavily influenced by the Cure and possibly new order more so than JD... people are just to hung up on JD because deep down inside people want Ian Curtis back lol... and they're always looking for a band/voice to fill his void

This interviewer is horrible
