@@nondescriptbeing5944 Carlos the smooth wordsmith and clever trollster, Daniel sweet guy that radiates pure authenticity, Paul shy and nice but you can't tell you can't fuck with him, Sam is the serious daddy of the band
To be fair, there is another video that shows how Carlos had asked for some water before this clip. She said sure but then never got it. Then her first interview question to him was "Are you surprised at the big crowds coming to see your shows?" I would give her credit if she was trying to be snarky, but she wasn't, she's just dumb. Reeks of a diversity hire.
jajajaj yeah that's was hilarious!! he's strict on the woman, the woman freaks out so much and then she RUNS to bring the water, and Paul is so natural and polite "Can I have some too, please?" jajajaja It's like almost theater. Their relationship it's so weird
Now, after seeing a lot of the band, watch every interview of them I could and read pretty much everything available about them (I'm a recent fan), I see what you meant. Returned here and liked your comment, by the way. Accurate, my boy. Lol.
1.Carlos Dengler: -Me pregunto si deberíamos comenzar esta entrevista cuando aún no me han dado mi vaso de agua. Paul: -¿Podría tener yo otro, por favor?
@@pedromedina4850 probably because he phrased it so retarded-ly, and ridiculously with such a sense of entitlement i wonder how this will translate to you verbatim “i wonder whether or not we should conduct this interview without my having drunk a glass of water” if it sounds ridiculous in your language too, you heard it right 😂
There’s zero chance the interviewer told him “it’s so crazy that you dress well given what you do and who you are. I’ve never seen anything like it.” But that’s the statement he replied to.
There's an early video interview with the band in a rehearsal studio and the back and forth is interesting. There was some kind of friction between Paul and Carlos. Though Paul seemed to make light of it while Carlos was more annoyed than angry. Daniel, Sam and Carlos were always in agreement that they had no idea where Paul's lyrics were coming from.
very unfortunate that Daniel and Carlos, being the founding member of the band, couldn't resolve the band's conflicted energy....real shame, what a loss of a limb for Interpol still....3 geniuses still but wasn't quite like 4 geniuses
Some may say he's a snarky guy, I personally think he is just an out there dude with a quirky sense of humor. People need to let off the throttle and try to understand the guy's just trying to be a little funny even though he may come off stuck up. Can't deny good bass player (which is one of his many artistic talents)
What he said wasn't even close to humor. In fact, it sounded like an insult wrapped in pompousness and insensitivity. Well, I mean, it could be humor to him...but that's not the point.
He's blunt. But I'm pretty sure all the band members wanted some water and are probably tired of the wardrobe questions. Now that Carlos is gone they probably have to bring their own water everywhere they go. LOL
@jordahm Dan, Paul, and Sam have state recently that Carlos had indeed written all of his basslines. The article which are referring to (during the Antics era) Carlos was misquoted when he was explaining how Interpol songs are written in that Dan introduces an idea, and then the rest of the band fleshes it out.
I like how everyone praises Carlos as the most talented yet don't see Daniel is literally the driving force of the band, he structures all the songs, he wrote most of the bass lines, Carlos made them a bit more complex. not to say Carlos wasn't talented, but he isn't all that everyone makes him to be.
Interpol has lost a lost with Carlos, for instance me 😂 I mean their music is no longer as good as it used to be with Carlos and no Daniel doesn't wrote bass lines during Carlos and for el pintor it's paul that have written bass lines, come on Daniel may come up with the melody but he is far from being a good guitarist, paul is better :)
5.Tú quieres que entremos en un debate sobre el origen del disco y la relación que tiene éste con el resto de nuestra discografía y yo estaría encantadísimo de contártelo, pero, creo que eso sería cruzar el límite de esta situación.
@Beetlebum1992 Well if u watch the whole interview (available on youtube) he asks for a glass of water b4 even sitting down and he is completely ignored. If u spend a whole day giving interviews being asked the same thing I guess u wont be in the best of the moods...
The last quote is just straight up rude. I hate it when musician's become arrogant and treat others like that. It can't be that hard to not let fame go to your head and have some will power, you may be successful but that gives you no right to talk down to people.
Robin Francis So, if you watch the original video, he originally asked for a glass of water. The host failed to bring it and I feel, I could be mistaken, but, I think that Carlos was just messing with her. You see Carlos give Paul a huge grin and they both smiled.
Was that woman really offended? Nobody else was smiling. Anyway the new Interpol album is out in september, i wonder how it'll turn out without Carlos.
Something like, "I wonder if we should commence/commit this interview without my having drunk a glass of water" In the full video of the interview, you hear someone at the radio station offer them a glass of water each but clearly they forget. Apparently this is his way of reminding them.
@smutyhouse Carlos left. They wrote this 4th album and then he left, everybody knows, go cheking. They didn't announced it 'cause they're not talking to the press, they're having troubles with the record company (it won't be the Capitol Records) and that's why the album is sitll late to come out. There are some tour dates yet but surely Carlos won't be part of it, he's done with Interpol. :(
@tmf1977 Yeah fucking bummed out right now, I suppose it's just the initial shock of it right now though as i'm sure there were hints of him wanting to leave over the past 2/3 years. But yeah I will certainly miss that pomp, that air of arrogance about him and of course that stache. Farewell to Carlos (Weeps).
