Rudy was/is one of the best, and always able to deal with a crisis at CTF. We were officers, sergeants, and Lts together at CTF. I retired in February 2009 and I am happy to no longer be there. As a Sgt I would tell my COs "you run your unit, if I see you doing anything that needs fixing I will let you know."
Bringing back memories. 07 first day I touched down in IST I was told answer the phone in back of the room so I did. The voice said how many girls came in with your class? I said what??? The voice said hey rookie a number? Lol😂😂😂😂 I came in with 44 17 or so were girls. Next question how many are CDC 5 or above? 😂😂😂 I told the dude I’m married I don’t get down like that. He then said 17 is a good number thanks rookie. 😂😂😂😂

With all these “evidence based” programs, there needs to be transparency with what they are doing behind the scenes. Who ever is in charge, the program can be a complete failure and they will keep doing the program. It’s happening in the local counties as well. There needs to be a senate bill where the counties from DA’s to sheriffs need to show how they are prosecuting cases. They are just giving everyone and their mother ankle monitor until they commit a more serious crime.

Great interview one of the best. CCI had this mentality when I started in 07. Most LT’s had his mind frame. Most Sgt had it too. I took notes probably why I made a good Sgt. lol😂 great interview!!!
Coming from a union rep. Once they went to 2.5 at 57 you better have all your ducks in a row revokable will, power of attorney, beneficiaries and have multiple term life insurances one through the union it’s cheep and it comes directly out of your check you won’t miss it and 1 outside of work. The State counts on you dying before. Everyone should visit Calpers with your spouse to get the numbers cash out numbers or pause service numbers. The state is counting on you not making it that long!!!
Rudy was one of my mentors when I first promoted. Solid dude. He taught me how NOT to do 115 hearings lol. I wasn't supposed to tell an inmate, "Fuck you, you're guilty, take it like a man" 😂
My cousin retired as a correctional counselor after 28 years, he would say he was going to smoke weed when he’s retired. Sure enough he’s puffing on good stuff on a hill, after not smoking his whole career. I have to give him much respect. 🫡

When I had a dump truck I used to say you are a bare minimum cop robbing the state but you aren’t going to rob your partner today. Bare minimum do your rounds hit your searches and back your partner. If you have a choice don’t work my facility or my yard. You aren’t even a dump truck at least dump trucks get used. You are just a body. Prove me wrong I challenge you to prove me wrong.
For the new younger officers, there is no hope because they are not being trained to do the same thing the old timers did but in a different way. I truly wish I could say more but in order to protect my identity, I cannot. I promise you TPG, we could talk about things.
