Interview with Manny Marroquin & Larry Crane

Great interview! I love the content. It's something I rarely hear that's really important for those of us sending our stuff out to be mixed or mastered. I wonder if problems discussed are the result of the new instant gratification, results with no effort generation. They lay down some stuff, hand it over and say, "Make it a hit!" Without putting effort in with a standard of excellence, and without consideration of the people who have to sort out their mess. I wish they'd gone into the proper way to send our song to someone to mix.

22:49 So Manny does yoga. Makes sense. Earlier today I saw a clip of him winning an award, and thinking "he looks in amazing shape".

It's hardly a wonder that Manny is the accomplished guy that he is....a marvelous blend of old/new school and easy-to-work-with grace. He cooks up some pretty good sounds too. A nearly irrelevant point, but, in the context of high end recording and audio, why does poor Larry sound like he's being recorded with a potato? It's somewhat distracting in this otherwise wonderful chat. Oh well.... Thanks lads.
