RASHID: "Mr. de Pointe du Lac covets the rare." [...] SERVER: "[...] and AB negative, fresh from the farm." AB- is the rarest of the standard blood types. The attention to detail at EVERY LEVEL of this show is absolutely bonkers specific! For example: one fun art history Easter Egg on the walls of Louis's modern day Dubai penthouse is Rembrandt's "The Storm on the Sea of Galilee." In real life, "The Storm on the Sea of Galilee" was one of Rembrandt's earliest and largest works-- and his only known seascape (so SUPER DUPER RARE) and it was stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston in 1990. The Gardner heist is regarded as the highest value art theft in history and remains unsolved to this day (implying that, in the IWTV universe, Louis either had a hand in or black market art dealings with the people responsible for the Gardner heist). So, a seemingly one-off line from Rashid characterizing Louis as someone who "covets the rare" is then backed up by his choice of blood type AND the set design. In my opinion, every single aspect of this show-- the writing, the casting, the acting, the music, the set design, the costuming-- is absolutely the best of television currently airing. (Hell, if somebody said this set had the best craft services ever, I'd probably believe it at this point!) And I thought season 2 was even better than season 1! If IWTV is able to sustain this level of quality throughout its run and land a solid series finale, it could replace "Black Sails" in my personal opinion of greatest television show of all time.
Great video G i don't have anything to add. Sat through the whole video laughed in agreement at some of the stuff you said and really enjoyed the ending conversation as well. Ill be back for every episode and im subbing as should every one else who is watching and enjoying these reactions. Support small creators peeps we need it more than you know.
AGREED. Book fans, film fans, show fans-- we all have our favorite characters in the Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles canon(s) that we're maaaaaaaybe too attached to. 😂 I think it's SO important to give others experiencing these stories for the first time the chance to develop their own opinions about the characters without spoilers and/or too much additional/alternate context from the books. But I also fully acknowledge how HARD it is to resist the urge to defend our favs. I, myself, got VERY CLOSE to jumping up into another reactor's comments section when I felt like they were hating on my personal fav in the series too much. I was about to be like "Your take on (my fav) is SO WRONG! You just don't UNDERSTAND (this thing and the other thing) about (my fav)! If you can't understand that about (my fav) you have either a media literacy or empathy problem!" ...But then I took a breath and remembered that I don't think it's cool for Lestat stans to share spoilers and cite book canon in order to defend him to youtube reactors, then I shouldn't be a hypocrite and try pulling all that in defense of MY fav. 😅
6:48 In some lore silver bullets are deadly to vampires, yes, but nothing lke that in Anne Rice's universe :) As you said, it's more of a werewolf thing.
It's interesting you mentioned werewolves because anne wrote two books focusing on werewolves the wolf gift is really great read You might want to check out the mayfair witches tv series it's actually set in the same universe as interview with the vampire anne rice wrote a book trilogy
I was one of the people to recommend this show, and I am so glad that you are enjoying it! You have a keen bullshit detector, which I noticed in your Hannibal videos. You have really good instincts about who is up to fuckery, and I can't wait to see what you pick up on from these characters as the story progresses. I would like to make some recommendations on other shows you may enjoy based on what've you watched and liked before. What is your #1 favorite show or your favorite genre of show?
Ayeee well thanks for recommending this 🔥. Who wasn't up to fuckery in Hannibal?? Lmao But kinda like i said last episode I love breaking bad, walking dead, weeds to name a few. I been getting into American horror story. I like animated stuff like vox machina and other anime/cartoons. I'm not too picky lol
@@byrdxbyte Okay, for something where a fish-out-of-water normie is thrown into the deep end of hardened criminals, I would recommend HBO's Oz (on MAX.) It originally aired in the 90s, but IMO it still holds up, and the cast is stacked with familiar faces. For spooky, creepy supernatural stuff Midnight Mass (Netflix) and Castle Rock (Hulu) were both a good time. If you like zombie apocalypses, but also some ye olden times messy palace intrigue with Kings and concubines and bastard heirs, there is Kingdom (Netflix.) For some fated battling between weird old gods and monsters, there's Ragnarok (live action Netflix,) Blood of Zeus, Castlevania, and Castlevania: Nocturne (Netflix Animation) Hopefully at least one or two of those will be something you haven't seen before and find interesting.
